2nd round pick?
On that basis I'd say a firm no Scooper.
He's worth more than that in a weakened draft if we can get him right.
He's still only 24 and from what we've seen this year is still a strong performer when able.

but I'm not closed to the idea of trading him.
Agree no to a second round pick. Disagree that we should trade him. Two years ago he was probably in the top 3 or 4 mids. Certainly the Jack to Kane that year was an absolute steal. Keep him or why bother developing players at all.

Got work MB you got this one spot on.

A few people posted that Nathan's start to the season would be delayed, which it was. How he reacted to playing was a complete unknown and unfortunately, and unpredictably, he didn't fare too well. That's the nature of that kind of injury. What mb's source couldn't possibly have known is that Nathan would suffer a different injury, albeit related to the original one.

I am glad to hear Nathan is being managed well rather than given jabs to play as he was last year. Gee that makes me angry to think about. I wish him all the best for his upcoming surgery and hope he has the complete recovery the medical team are confident of.

Not sure in the sense of the trade talk. If Nathan makes a full recovery we need him bigtime. If he doesn't then he'd hardly be attractive trade bait anyway. I'm 100% behind him remaining at Tigerland and hopefully having a long and successful career.

Re: Welcome back Nathan

Absolute definite keeper. A Rosy points out, if fit he is a key player for us and if cant shake injury would be worthless as a trade.

Re: Welcome back Nathan

I'd say no to a 2nd rounder but if a first rounder was offered I would have a very good look at it.
Won't be though with his current injuries so the debate is kind of pointless really.
He'll remain a Tiger next season and hopefully bounces back hard to the form he's capable of.

Re: Welcome back Nathan

rumour was that the saints were snooping around and asking about axel. they paid overs for lovett to get some speed and a fit foley is 10 times the player and person numbnuts is and 3 years younger

Yeah, the first rounder would be a big call. If he gets back to full pace he is a assest. Just thikning that he may not get back so maybe you see what happens at the trade table.

What about Rhys Stanley and a second rounder?

The Saints are likely to finish top 2 this year which means their first pick will be 24 or 25 (middle of the second round in most years). So they aren't going to have much to offer us for Foley, we'd have to be stupid to take a pick so high for him and I can't see St Kilda offering any of their top line players. I would want to be getting a top 10 pick for Foley.

i'd settle for armitage/mcevoy and 25

Don't understand the discussion of Foley as a tradeable player - Tambling is surely more likely. Foley tens times the player Tambling is but we still may get something decent for Tambling from the Saints - may get a 2nd rounder

Nathan Foley - Update?

Hey does anyone have any info on Nathan Foley, I thought he was close about 3 weeks ago but I haven't seen him on any list?

Any info would be appreciated?

Re: Nathan Foley - Update?

I've been told Nathan isn't travelling real well. His problem is with his achilles and he developed a new, but related, injury. It's unlikely he'll play again this season. He's likely to have surgery in the next couple of weeks and those involved with it are confident of a full recovery.

DH said recently that there's no doubt Nathan could be playing now, and he's only listed as a "test" (leg) so we'll have to wait and see what eventuates. I just hope all care and caution is taken so he has every possible chance to recover fully with plenty of time before he starts pre-season training.

Got to push those cars up hill.

Re: Nathan Foley - Update?

He has been missed. Good midfield with a fit Foley, Cotchin and Martin as the three main men.

Amen, no doubt they will though, Hardwick is very much living in the future these days and regularly has to be reminded what day it is. Very refreshing to have a coach focussed on what is good for us in the future and be methodical in his planning to get there.
