It was a bit more innocent than that. A caller asked if rumours were true that he had signed with GC and he said he's pretty close with Axle and wouldn't let him go anywhere.

Aaah ok, ta b4p.

Still don't think it's for him to comment although obviously a fellow player is not going to say 'Yes I think he's signed with them' or 'I think he's going to be cut'.

Imagine the headlines if he said 'I prefer not to comment on that'

JACKSON REFUSES TO QUASH FOLEY SPECULATION :p

It'd be better if players fresh aired it and said 'I have no idea' but unless the player is a complete drop kick or absolutely useless, players would generally answer in a positive way when asked about other player's futures.

Re: Nathan Foley - Update?

I just finished reading the HS article about Cousins not getting picked to play this week. Then half way through they slipped in that Foley is out for the season, then straight back to more crap about Ben. The Foley story was the headline for me.

Well there you go.

I gave Nathan a bit of a touch up in the early part of the season for not being a goal kicking midfielder and he's hardly been away from at least one per game since.

Shows what you can do when you have a little focus.

Well done Nathan!

was really tough and solid today, perhaps his best game this year and perhaps our best player on the day...thought he was excelent

Clinical game by Foley today.

Great hardball gets in and under and running on or handballing to advantage.

His first quarter was sublime.

Him and Tuck...yes Tuck...add so much to our inside game.

Good work boys.

Maybe last weeks sub off was a bit of a wake up call.

It was always going to take time,
but thank god todays game suggests if he has a big preseason, axil foley should be back to elite status in 2012.
As i feared he would not be able to get it back, but today he was superman

Totally agree Can, great game today and hopefully next season will be back to his best. Absolutely no way we should trade such a hard worker at the club as some people suggest.

Given Cotchin was being heavily sat on today it was great to see Tuck, Grigg & Foley (in particular) have an influence on the game.
Nathan had his best game of the season today IMO.

Happy Birthday to Nathan - I do believe he turns 26 today.

How time marches on...

Still a young'un. Hopefully experiences some success with the Tigers. Thought his season was pretty good. Next year if he gets some more consistency then thats a bonus.

At only 26 and with his injuries behind him hopefully, Foley can definitely help that talented young midfield rise over the next few years.

As Dimma said we had effectively 2 first round picks this year. Foley and Conca. Conca minus a pre-season will almost be a first rounder next year. And Foley will be like a 2nd year player who has had a solid first season trying to consolidate in his second. Watched a 2007 game against the Pies. Had the first 3 clearances!! Commentators were in awe of him back then. Was simply awesome.
