Why did Terry not but him back when he was not getting a touch?

Thought the backline played quite well tonight. A long period in the second quarter without a goal. Schulz may have rocked the balance. Who would you suggest he should have been played on? Welsh would have been a bit quick I feel.

With Richo out Schulz has to play.

*smile*; bring Hughes and Riewoldt in. Schulz was shocking tonight. Did he get a touch? He doesn't look at all interested and doesn't work hard anywhere near hard enough. No doubt he has ability but he doesn't seem to want it bad enough. At the moment he's a nothing footballer; ie gives us nothing. Looks like another fruitless 1st round draft selection.

Could have taken the resting Ruck or Wills man or had a go at Welsh he was killing Raines.

Ridley, The Steamer and Riewoldt to play the key forward slots without support? Not even an interchange? Maybe Polak has to play forward.

A baptism of fire for Jack. He might be up to it but it's a bit of an ask.

If Schulz plays he gets a matchup on old Mal Michael.

Re: Jay Schulz

Yep, all the people callings for Richo's head will see what it is really like without him taking the best defenders.

What did Wallet say about blokes getting dropped for poor performances? You can't get any poorer than Schulz tonight and he wasn't much better last week. Hughes was very unlucky to be dropped before him. Schulz has proven nothing to suggest he can provide support. Just give the kids their head. It's only Essendon. What have we got to lose? Another game :p

Re: Jay Schulz

I'm okay with dropping blokes for one bad performance. I'm even okay with dropping Schulz for his game last might.

But unless we use Pattison, Polak or Simmonds in the forward line, the Steamee and Jack would be over exposed.

Re: Jay Schulz

No point playing a bloke if he can't get near the pill. What value is he? NADA. May as well try a different set up. Go smaller for instance. FFS it's not like the regular set up has won as any games ::)

Re: Jay Schulz

I reckon Schulz would benefit by being dropped. But I don't see why the 80kg apprentices should pay for it.

I'm confident that Hughes would be safe. He's cautious. But Riewoldt will go where angels fear. Let's not Grant Thomas the kid.

Absolutely spot on. If the match committee are fair dinkum they have to drop Schulz (or Schulzzzzzzz as Bruce likes to call him). Thought he showed nothing tonight and deserves a run in the twos. Hopefully Jack has even an okay game for Coburg, then they'll hafts bring him in. Still think Sarge could be okay, but he's got a long way to go.

Geez jack, the bummers are perfect. They would only have to play on Michael and Fletcher and if we really strike it lucky, Kepler Bradley will be brought in to shore up the Bummer defence.

Re: Jay Schulz

Loathe as I am to pump up the Steamer. ;D he could just have been the differnece between winning and losing last night.

Unfortunately Schulz gave us nothing.

Re: Jay Schulz

I doubt he'll be dropped if Richo is out, Benny

Just bring in Rooey jnr to replace Richo

Jay has a commendably bad attitude to opponents. Opponents have to learn the hard way that there is a price to pay for getting in his way.

Yep, No Steamer, no Tigers.

Hughes and JR will both play next week. Richo and Schulz out, it is pretty straight forward.

Re: Jay Schulz

With Richo out Schulz has to deliver in the next 2 months.

If he dosent could be curtains. However I would be loathe to trade or delist him however because of the lack of height on our list.
