In that Wiz Fiz game he was playin Key back very well till he broke his ankle, hope they havent shelved the idea

They recruited Polak, CC.
Could well play there regardless Jack. I don't think Gas will play all 22 this year - even if fully fit. There will be games where the match ups won't suit him.

Re: Jay Schulz

Another disappointing game from Schulz tonight. Will this bloke ever deliver some consistent footy for the club.On this year's form you would say no.Time for him to perform if not trade.

Yep Richo must have another 4 years left at least.

Re: Jay Schulz

Why not throw him to chb when he is struggling?
He seems to go straight to the bench - our defence could have used him in the second half of the first qtr

Hasn't TW already done that before?

use shultz as a sweeper in defence

let's play him a la bowden in the past or jason cloke for that one season - as a sweeper / loose man in defence who can help out our young defence and set up our rebound - play reiwoldt and hughes in the forward line - we know shultz is struggling but he has too much to offer to be dropped or sitting on the bench - he has enough experience to contribute in some way to the team and this would give him some confidence by the club showing some faith in him

Re: Jay Schulz

Needs a spell and with Jack putting pressure on this is the time for Jay to go to Coburg and get back to leading hard and fast.

In all honesty I don't know why he spends so mcuh time outisde the 50, needs to stay at home. Just about every kick he gets should be a scoring shot.

Re: Jay Schulz

The Sarge has been struggling to impose himself on games. He is getting screened out of contests- not a particular big young man.

I think he should be administering a lot more punishment to the players screening him. He made like he was going to let go with a left hook at the close of the third quarter. It's the right spirit IMO but the wrong method.

I'd like to see the Sarge taking a couple of big pack splitting leaps early on in games to soften up the players in the opposition blockade. These are free shots. He should take them.

He should also be looking to give away more free kicks when the opposition is running the ball out. More free shots. Gotta take em.

Jay has a commendably bad attitude to opponents. Opponents have to learn the hard way that there is a price to pay for getting in his way.

Re: Jay Schulz

Poor effort from Jay tonight. He is better then that imho!

He needs to impose himself on the game to go to the next level.

Re: Jay Schulz

You are right, giving away the free kick is fine if he hurts them, especially when we have trouble stopping oppositions bringing it out anyway.

Re: Jay Schulz

Anyway, Schulz is only ever going to be a third tall. We need to develop him, but not pin our hopes on him.
