Schulz is another justin Plapp... flashed up on one or two occasions and then fizzled. He bags 5 goals at the burgers and then does zip for RFC.
Time for a trade, if we can get any takers

just too damn lazy.....

Schulz or our supporters? ;D

But seriously, the likelihood of Schulz being dropped went to zero as quick as the claret flowed from Richo's head.

My figure on Schulz thus far is he is a dumb-arse footballer - no footy brain - but he has physical talents that bob up very now and then. We need more of the now and less of the then! He has the best chance in the next 4-6 weeks to make his place in the forward line - No Richo - No more excuses! Start doing the job

No doubt Jay needs to perform Ridley, however I'd hope there's room for both Hughes and Schulz up forward over the coming seasons.
In Richo's absence the next few weeks will tell us alot about where Jay's future at the RFC is headed.

I like your tenacity in respect to supporting Jay ToO. Now if only some of that can rub off onto Jay himself. As you say the next few weeks will give us a fair indication. There will be no excuses left for him.

Re: Jay Schulz

The Sarge's kicking has gone right off this season. It means he doesn't get the value for the handful of possessions that he averages.

Normally when he gets it he makes it count.

I think we need to play him down back for a few games swap him with polak and see how he goes
No,leave Polak where he is.
amen to that

I really think he needs to go back to Coburg for at least a month with Hughes to replace him, and don't think he should get a reprieve just because Richo was injured.

Re: Jay Schulz

I'm starting to have serious doubts about Schulz's ability. Hope im wrong

So do I, though I suspect you are not.

He really lacks the ability to win one on one contests at the moment. I suspect he is carrying an injury that is limiting him, perhaps he is down on confidence and needs a run at the Burgers.

Just say no to Kingsley.

Give Jay a crack at FF I say. ;D
Schulz will probably play at ff this week,Richo injury will probably get him a reprieve.

Re: Jay Schulz

To me it seems Jay has abiltiy but not football smarts, so he really relies on midfielders providing him good delivery, which obviously dosent happen at Richmond

Re: Jay Schulz

I think a lot of posters judge Jay on what they see on TV, and don't see all the leads he makes that don't get honoured simply because the Tigers don't have the skill to hit a leading forward with any reliability.

He isn't that good body on body, tends to get down low to hold his spot and then can't reach out far enough to take the ball, but he does make a good lead and I love the way he hits the packs. He has taken out more than a few defenders with his attack on the ball.

Had a bad game on Friday night, didn't get near it early and then when Richo went down he coppped Rutten, who has claimed better scalps than Schulz in the last few months.

I would be patient and play him for the rest of the year, what have we got to lose huh? And he is the sort of player who could come back and bite you on the arse big time if traded, a Rodan times 10, if he got a team who could kick to a player on a lead.

Re: Jay Schulz

I try very, very hard not to make disparaging remarks about Richmond players so that I can truly claim to be a supporter.

Having said that, on the matter of Schulz and his ability :-X

True he had a shocker Friday night but he's shown enough to get a few more games before
he turns into PRE's new whipping boy.
Go Sarge, a favourite of mine.

Interesting that people harp alot on the opportunity missed when discussing Rodan. Had a look at the stats (and yes I know stats arent everything), and compared him in his role to that of Pettifer (similar roles), and their stats are very close in almost all aspects including number of goals kicked this year (tackles is the glaring difference). Why is it that Rodan is now considered an opportunity missed whereas hordes are calling for the axe on Pettifer?

Just an observation.

Re: Jay Schulz

Because Rodan is a regular in a team that is winning.

If we were 8-0 instead of 0-8 no one would call Rodan an opportunity missed.

Exactly...But in my eyes D-Rod isn't setting the world on fire anyway, yes he is getting his hands on the footy but so he should considering his been in the system for about 5 years.

Re: Jay Schulz

by the end of the year rodan wont be in ports best 22 and will be playing his career out in the sanfl
