When will Bernie go !!

You can't control the MCG like you can the Cattery.

We'll get plenty of chances to score.

What matters is our poise. Will we keep our heads?

It worries me that we haven't won a final. This group could've done with that monkey off the back heading into this season. That way it would've just been about a flag this time round.

Hardwick under immense pressure.

Flip side is that this team has not lost a final. New team with a level of maturity and belief that I have not seen for some time.

I like your positivity but I'm not sure you can say this is a "new team".

The senior core have seen three finals losses, two when we were strong favourites.

Still, the Bulldogs proved you can go all the way through sheer momentum.

I guess against Carlton we were warm favourites.

I reckon against North, North were favourites.

Edit: Just checked against North we were 1.65 favourite

Most sides earn their dues before winning flags.

Still, the Bulldogs proved you can go all the way through tsheer momentum. Anything is possible.

Different dynamic Baz. George, Buts, Dan, Josh, Dion, Tobes, Broady, Towner and Jack jnr all untainted with the teams recent record in finals. Just don't buy into the concern.

You are right though....anything is possible.

I stand corrected, but that's punter insight into our mental fragility.

It was fifth vs eighth and we should have been warm favourites.

I wonder what will happen with this thread if we go out in straight sets?

If we're out in straight sets Beavis should offer to walk.

I've bookmarked this page. hopefully i don't have to come back to it. ;D

Dunno why he should offer to walk though. The club was stupid enough to extend prematurely.

Any club with cajones would do what is needed.

Well Chocco just labeled Richmond supporters as pathetic because we don't make enough noise when the game is in the balance. So I guess it's our fault if we lose. We'd better watch out Peggy might sack us all if we go out in straight sets

No mention of anybody else doing a bad job just us pathetic members who pay our hard earned to go to the footy.

There's two monkeys Baron, one perched on each shoulder for perfect balance. Now all we need to do is find a way to nail both of the bastards with the one shot on Fri night.

There is not a snowflake's chance in hell Dimma leaves even if we go out in straight sets

Just accept it as fact is my recommendation

Heard a classic the other day, Dimma's nickname in media
"Home and Away Hardwick".

Lets hope we win.

Well the club tend to bask in the glory of making the finals but never winning anything. Hope it all changes though.

No doubt Ant but with a double chance the club, coach & players need a good showing starting Friday.

Otherwise the jungle drums will be beating next year.

There are some expecting a straight sets performance. Others live in hope.

Hardwick needs as well as the players to rid a finals/premiership exit.

Imagine if Scott loses and is out in Straight sets (again), i imagine there would be a part of Cats supporter group wanting him gone as well, good to be balanced.

Absolutely.

Whether you think its good or bad, he'll see out his contract til end of next season, no doubt.

Wouldn't be so sure about that.

There'll be another board challenge if we straight set from finishing third.

“Blake Caracalla came across at the same time and brought a lot of ideas along with him,” Caddy said.

“Some of the stuff the Richmond guys were learning (over summer) was for the first time and were only speaking about for the first time, some things I had been used to (at Geelong).

Pretty damning.

"So Blake, you mean I can run over there and I don't have to stay here and mark territory?"

Blake - "er yep"

"And I can move the ball quickly and direct"

Blake - "aha"

The above is pretty damning on Hardwick lead preseasons of the past. One wonders what they were being taught.

This just further confirms what a mate told me early in the year - a player said the game plan is all Caracella.

Fascinating battle in the coaches boxes on Friday night.

Chris Scott is a defensive coach, make no mistake. Complete opposite to his twin brother. Unlike Brad, he can coach a little bit too.

Scott is a better denier than Hardwick. If Bernie wants an arm wrestle all game then Geelong will win. They are bigger, stronger, cooler under pressure.

By the same token, we can't blow our load too early. You can just picture us skipping out to a four goal lead only for it to be reeled in.

No, the answer (to me at least) is to play a dour game up to half time. Kick long but sag back. Conserve energy. Allow some ping pong between the arcs.

Then run like crazy in the second half. Slice Geelong on the wings and flanks. Spread in waves to a speedy, efficient F50.

If we're thereabouts at half time, I'd be quietly confident.

If Geelong are winning comfortably, it's already over.

If Richmond are winning comfortably, I'd be very nervous.

This final will be all about timing. That's the coach's domain.
