perhaps a different way to look at it is to compare how many times a team has won 15 games and made the top 4 v how many times a team has won 15 games and not made the top 4 under the current top 8 finals format. we won 15 games in 2013 and 2015 and finished 5th.

But essentially I think most footy experts would agree that the class of 2016 is a bit stronger than the class of 2017. But at the end of the day, the team who holds up the cup on September 30 won't give a stuff about that.

Id say the opposite Ian, id suggest with needing less wins the comp is more even and games are tougher and harder to win therefore finishing third on less wins is a greater achievement. Especially half a game out of top spot, shows we are in the mix and around the mark.
