When will Bernie go !!

I'm a bit confused. The one game you waould expect Blake to have a big say in the game and tactics, Beavis locks him out of the coaches box.

Only the pre brain trust know the facts.

But one thing we can be sure of is that it's all bernies fault!

Just hope Blake is back in charge next week so we can beat the ankers.

"Famously loyal Hardwick" (C Wilson, The Age) is still playing the same blokes who wilted when the blowtorch was applied in previous finals series. Many of us for years have questioned the likes of Houli, Grigg, B Ellis not being superceded. The six players between 16 and 22 win the flag and we are still too weak in this area IMO

Yeah I can see the angst today with the coaching.

We play poorly on a school boy sized ground, but once again despite the complete bias of the umpires, we kick straight we win.

My biggest gripe is the way we set up, we concede the opponents a spare defender and our spare tries to get to the contest. Our forwards are often outnumbered but our defenders play one on one. At quarter time against GWS we went man on man and the game changed (rain also helped). Jack has no space and has to fight for the ball with no help from umpires. I reckon we play better with a six man forward line.

Great summary. Countless times we kicked it to there spare man. Not having the second tall hurts but this is even more reason to go man on man.

He also needs to get out of his head playing two lumbering rucks. We got away with it a few weeks but against the better sides we get found out. Especially when you lose a runner early in the game.

Bernie's version of vertigo is when he approaches a 50% winning percentage as a coach. His nose bleeds, his knees go all a quiver and he gets a serious bout of the vapours!

The Ruck call is interesting one SA, we surely couldn't keep going with Grigg as our second ruck and having Nankervis doing major overtime in there, in saying that I feel Soldo only offers Nankervis a rest from the ruck while we stay competitive in the Ruck contests but nothing else, though both are not ready and may not ever be, I'd consider Chol or Moore in the second ruck role, *smile* even Elton could probally work better for the team as he can atleast fly for a couple of grabs, Soldo is not getting near it when resting forward. May not have the perfect cattle but a little tweak maybe needed.

Soldo has doe his job in giving Nank a rest and Nank has done a solid job forward with Jack out.

I think we need to take a risk and go solo on Nank. Possibly just 5 games to go and there is a break in three weeks so we can unleash Toby for two now and then three finals.

Bring in a forward to help Jack, probably Lennon ATM. Dream scenario is that Griff comes to hand quickly and is in enough nick to play rd 1 finals.

Next week Lennon and Miles should come in for Soldo and Caddy. Short in for Houli if available.

No doubt in finals Nank will go alone. Until then Dimma is trying to give him rest using Soldo whilst we close the season out.

Even though you post a lot of rubbish, some of it is quite humorous Mutton I must say.

Soldo not taking enough marks. You'd take his other deficiencies if he did.

Big improver snake, however still a mile away imho, I think his competing well in the Ruck but that's it. Offers nothing else, if he was getting to more marking contests and atleast halving then it's different, however so often in the forward 50 he trails his opponent to the marking contest and dosent have any impact.

"The nature of the games down here are highly contested and we didn't hunt the ball anywhere near to the level that we would like," Hardwick said.

So he drops Miles

Seems he had Hunt on his mind too

I would like to know why Bernie played Rance on Taylor who held him deep all game and didn't allow rance to push up and intercept geelongs forward thrusts. Astbury was the obvious matchup who would have better handled Taylors marking ability as well as releasing Rance to do what he does best.
