When will Bernie go !!

Can imagine the quarter time speech from dimma.

"I know we are 6 up but this swans team is a great team. They have champions, premiership players and a great exciting young core coming up. They are what we are aspiring to be. They have us covered everywhere except for the coaches box as Longmire has proven he is a shocker at the mcg.

Bring it in now boys. Grigg take the ruck they won't know how to handle a 6 foot ruckmAn Dusty go to full forward they won't be expecting that either. Edwards, Rioli I know you have not seen much of it but you can stay out there for the experience. Prestia and caddy, we are paying you both too much so you can play on ball.

Jack, remember keep inside the 50, that is the defensive 50. Keep pushing into that back half, unless it is the last 60 seconds of the game and we are winning by a point.

Alright let's go boys let's give our supporters what they want. Let's turn this into a contest, a slugfest, go give them some defensive forward pressure.

Bahaha

I'm sure the words "grind it out" and "ball security" got a mention or 2.

This manic pressure game plan is not sustainable for 4 qtrs, especially with the young players we have out there and the limited bench rotations.
Dimma needs to come up with a plan B

The score line flatters us. If it weren't for Rance, Astbury and Grimes we would have lost by 5 -7 goals.

This youthful inexperience is a copout. A weak incorrect excuse.

The teams ages were almost identical yesterday. games 95 v 91.

Both teams had 10 players with less than 50 games.

Sydney an additional 3 players less than 100 to our 2.

Youth or inexperience was NOT a reason we got beat yesterday.

Our time to contend is now.

Ay yes Lazy's way (or the highway) is always very eager to tell people how wrong they are when they put forward points that don't accord with his world view.

Nevermind.

Couple of additional stats for you to consider Lazy one, average age of teams Swans 25.23 v Tigers 24.23. OK 1 yr not much of a difference but still indicates across the board we were younger. Here is the kicker, the average age of the Swans defensive 6 was 25.33 compared with the average age of our forward 6 being 21.83. Once again men against toddlers. Massive, massive difference.

My point stands. The lack of physical maturity i.e. youth (and a second tall) in the F50 is the key reason we lost against the swans.

Pretty certain I can name 3 players from any team and make them lose by 5-7 goals

Nah average age was Us - 24 yr 9 months, them 25 years 3 months.

6 months diff.

Maturity was not the reason we lost. The difference in experience was negligable.

Yep still remember him chastising me for daring to suggest that the bulldogs were not that good and were actually lucky to win the flag last yr........ ;)

Pfft. I was a step ahead of you - I called them the most overrated team in the comp a month before they won it! A visionary I tells ya!

Timing is everything spook. :)

Anyways a few of us said they did fluke it and would struggle to repeat the feat... So far we ain't wrong...

Hardwick should be given a please explain from the AFL after once again saying we are not a team that wins by big margins.

hehe, it's the jockey equivalent of not riding a horse on its merits.

On The Couch tonight.....for any cliché lovers.
I just can't stomach it.

Saturday's game was one of the most torturous I can remember. By about halfway through the second I started developing that sick feeling where you just know the opposition was going to reel us in.

Second half was likely sitting in the waiting room at that dental appointment you've been putting off for months.

Same here clevo, especially when it's the Coca Cola $wan$ doing it. He's torturous to listen to, but I need a laugh tonight.

Yeah, they must be shattered they got lucky and won the flag. Just highlights the importance of having a good coach who can identify a strength and get the best out of a reasonable list.
