When will Bernie go !!

disagree. We didn't back off, we actually did the opposite IMO. I would have liked a bit more conservatism when we got that 6 goal lead and they lifted, they are back in form IMO, we kept taking the game on and taking unnecessary risks. Anyway. what do I know?

on the other close games, also disagree. each game different but none due to backing off. Each of the previous 3 due to us playing poorly or being beaten by a better side.

Agree to disagree. At the ground IMO it was palpably clear that we took the foot off half way through the second quarter. Went sideways and backwards rather the press home the dominance. Swans got right on top of the stoppages. They were harder at it.

If you consider the sideway and backward kicks, as well as not being daring to run at the Swans defence taking the game on, then you are spot on.

Dimma does.

Correct. Interesting we didn't go sideways chipping in the first qtr. Our running patterns changed and we became more conservative with our ball movement.

Cliché ridden presser. Looks like he was fatigued too.

Dimmers fatigued you should see us supporters
Once plan A was dismantled by the swans he went for the handbrake and once again came undone
Seen enough it's Groundhog Day just get rid of him

Given that Chimp and Dusty were on 2nd gear all day, was it fatigue to most players that made him apply the handbrake? We were all 2nd to the ball in the 2nd half.

My main argument is he should have put Astbury in attack.

We can't afford Astbury forward he and Rance were taking mark after mark holding out an onslaught
Riewoldt can't be the only tall were crucifying him getting triple teamed all day and expecting miracles from him
Even a cardboard cut out of a tall that players could kick at and crumb to would give us a better option than having no tall
As for Dimmer on game day changing his only game plan he's useless

I'm not sure what it is.
28 up against GWS, 32 against the Dogs and 31 today. No trouble getting a lead.
No so much a problem wth close losses but clearly an issue with either maintaining a lead or putting the foot on the throat.

Our players soon will be the smartest going around. This season, the opportunities to learn just keep happening.

I think part of the problem in why we loose big leads is that we lack size all over the field and especially in attack. Once we loose the control of the game and we have to bomb it long we get picked off.

Every day I visit this thread hoping to see a positive outcome!

please tell me my optimism will not be forsaken!

Sack this underachiever.

Make my day.

We certainly have a habit of getting 5 goals up and then losing.

How do we get 5 goals up?

Why do we give up the 5 goal leads - do we change or do the opposition change it up to counter our earlier dominance?

It is damning however that as a coach, Hardwick has not been able to prevent losing from 5 goals up when a team makes a run at us.

Same team as we had last two games. U play a small team u lead and pass move the ball quicj. Don't give Hardwick excuses he can't coach no matter what side is playing!!
Against essendon we kept hitting up leads and hitting them in the last quareyer. Today no options In the last.

Ease up JB. He's only had 8 years to get it right. He needs more time. Give him a go!
