Welcome to Tigerland - Tim Taranto

I have been fairly happy with TT & Hopps thus far.

I think our clearance numbers will improve significantly if we can get a decent tap ruckman in Soldo on the park
Whatever they have produced so far is only going to get better. They have had to learn a gameplan which is very different to the GWS one and it also takes time to be instinctive about the running patterns and positioning of your teammates.
I haven't participated in this debate or any of the debates about Taranto and Hopper and the deals because to be brutally honest I just think it is ridiculous to make judgements at round 5 of year 1.
It's fine if others want to do it but I don't see the point

I like Tarranto and Hopper is winning the ball tight in packs.
We wouldn't have got either of them even if we used 12 picks.
The media are down playing them because they came to us.
Where was this when Hopper was going to Geelong or when Tarranto was a done deal to Collingwood l.
Both a 100 times better then Cerra.

We have nailed our top 5 picks, best player in 2007 & 2009. We nailed the 2006 draft with pick 13, again the best in the draft class. We got a top tier defender with pick 9, we got a premiership player in Ellis with pick 15 (in a compromised draft), we got a top class rebounder with pick 12 in Dan Rioli. The moment you adopt that attitude is the moment you may as well pack it in and find a new vocation. I get some of the frustration with the current recruitement philosophy and that needs to be addressed but if your attitude is to ditch the draft then you are dragging us back to the nineties and early 2000s where we chased guys like Biddiscombe & Rory Hilton.
I was an embryo in 2007
What happened between 2010-2022.
Besides Big V & Rioli it's been a shithouse. And don't give me Ellis either, we gave him away a 2 time premiership player for a late 2nd rounder.
While Collingwood were getting 1st rounders for duds.
Wellinghams Dawes etc.

It’s the chemistry with teammates that will improve immeasurably, we’d have a much worse problem if they were both trending at career worst numbers , both are peaking , we need to get smarter and capitalize with thee guys getting their hands in the pill

Don’t rewrite history Zips.
We didn’t give Brando away, he was a free agent and we got treated badly by the afl in the compensation

We sort of did give him away,we offered him a short term contract on reduced money, and the Suns offered him a long term contract on decent money.
Tigers didn't try hard to keep him.

We couldn’t afford to match the terms of the GCS offer at the time. We also believed that based on previous free agency draft compensation for similar deals, we would be given an end of first round compensation pick in return. The AFL decided otherwise.

Want do we want?
When do we want it?
Let's go on strike till we get a 1st rounder for a premiership player let alone a 2 time premiership player.
I wll bring the flags

yes, I wonder who we wouldn't have on our list now if we had matched a 5 x $650k deal ?

Yep and he was a restricted free agent, so was being paid in the top 25% of players at our club. Solid player and a great contributor to 2 premierships, but he was lucky we were crap when he got that contract extension that took him to free agency, because by 2019 there was no way he’d have been one of our better paid players!

Another great game by Taranto once again over 30+ disposals

I might have judged him a bit harshly last week. I watched him closely tonight and he busts his arse in the middle. We'd be even further up *smile* Creek without him, that's for sure.

People get so fixated with draft picks and fail to see the Forest from the trees. Tarranto and Hopper are very good players. It’s a pity we can’t see the full picture due to who we have on the sidelines.

Agree, but geez he mungs it.

More disposals, fewer clangers than Oliver and same disposal efficiency. Are we expecting too much from him?

I thought he was the best mid on the ground tonight. Had the most disposals, contested possessions, score involvements, tackles, pressure acts for the game, as well as equal most clearances and centre clearances. Couldn’t have done much more
