Welcome to Tigerland - Tim Taranto

We couldn’t afford to match the terms of the GCS offer at the time. We also believed that based on previous free agency draft compensation for similar deals, we would be given an end of first round compensation pick in return. The AFL decided otherwise.

Exactly right. We had a shed full of premiership players who wanted new contracts - you can't keep em 'all

As we should be

We need a Jack replacement that is experienced to support Tom Lynch whilst we have the young fowards developing
No Brainer if you ask me and i have been on the HH bandwagon now for over a year

Just hope it happens

He’d be that far ahead in the Jack Dyer medal it isn’t funny. Plenty of guys could take a leaf out of his book in regards to effort and intent…

Last post for awhile, I'm taking a long break, I'll drop in and put in some suggestions for the draft later in the year, as is the case every year I get abuse, get accused of being anti Richmond and get accused of manipulating my draft selections despite the fact everything is documented and 60 players ranked in order.

Sorry to read that, your assessment of the last trade period and the folly of the approach we took was spot on and becomes more and more spot on as each day passes.

Unfortunately when you post on an internet forum you deal with people who generally don't know what they don't know. It's very clear to me that you have obtained AFL standard knowledge and experience in the recruiting field, but most people do not have that or even recognise it.

Most people who follow footy also tend to think they know a lot about it, I certainly did until I started working inside a club and realised how little I did know and how much of what I thought I knew was actually wrong.

For most people, trying to have conversation with someone who challenges knowledge they are confident in, results in a fairly combative response, unless of course they are open to knowing what they don't know. Which few people are.

I look forward to reading your next post, don't let the bastards get you down. (Maybe I should give this advice to myself as well. ;))

He's been good, no doubt.
Just wished he could get into more goal scoring positions.
(same can be said about his mate Dennis as well).
Quentin has kicked 2 Goals.
Dennis 3.
That's not enough given the coin they are on.

As a comparison Titch kicked 15 last year.
They might kick 15 between them.
They really should be aiming to kick 20+ each IMHO.

Tarantino and Hopper have played 7 games with their new team. They need more games to start to achieve that innate understanding of what their team mates will do in certain situations, and vice versa. This doesn't happen overnight.

We're already starting to see signs that it's coming together. No doubt by the end of the year we'll be happy with what True Romance have brought to the table.
