It's not like we don't have other options.
Absolute waste of space.
did lay 3 tackles last week.mrposhman said:Only 3 players failed to lay a tackle, 1 was Butler the other 2 were Astbury and Short who played for about 5 minutes.
Mr Brightside said:I see Butler very similar to George in that he got his chance and made his game around putting pressure on the opposition an not getting much of the ball , simply doing his job and the fact is he was a very important part of a Premiership team. I’ve never rated Butler as a footballer rightly or wrongly, lacks some key ingredients of making it as regular senior footballer and even though we don’t posses a true small forward I think we have better options , very ordinary footballer imho and I really believe his form leaves Dimma no choice but to drop him back to the VFL, hope I’m wrong I just can’t see any position for him in an AFL team. At the risk of getting in the way of another kids development I’d play him on a wing in the VFL and that’s where he’d stay and hopefully help us win a flag in the VFL

I think the key to Butler and Castgna’s success was Jack Reiwoldt, smartest big bloke in the game and then to have a very very smart footballer in Caddy playing right beside them made the look better footballers then they are. You couldn’t deny there efforts and work in been important cogs in the forward line wheel. Facts are they both got the 2 weakest defenders , most times there opponent who actually plays lose and is the oppositions man to go to in delivering out of the back half, bottom line for me is put any high skilled small forward in that team and they kick 50 a season, both make way too many errors and Butler in particular doesn’t even get his hands on the ball when he should be at least making it a 50/50, I really hope they can turn it around and I have egg on my face, as we need some real intensity and flare at the moment.TigerForce said:I could see Castagna as an average player but I thought Butler would be way better. Going by your thoughts CC, how did 2017 show Dan?

Higgo is everything Butler is not.TigerForce said:Good and true points, but we've seen Butler show some flair even up to early 2018, whereas Castagna's never had any. Geez, how many times have I seen players get lower numbers and drop in form forever. Let's hope Higgo doesn't drop.

I’m not sure how some see the game, however Higgo has 21 touches an a goal yesterday playing predominantly in the same area as Butler and some criticise Higgo : .
