Welcome to the Tiggers - Daniel Butler

Butler not playing in the reserves. Obviously hasn't recovered as well as liked. Subject to other injuries can't see him getting back in.

Butler won't play.
...... basically because he's not fit and the question of whether he gets into the team simply doesn't need to be asked.
It's a shame because at his best and uninjured he would have been a lock.

While I think it unlikely that Butts makes it back into the seniors, if ever there is a team with the medical/fitness guys that could get him there, it's Richmond.

Nothing from Brandon in the vfl today said ‘pick me’.

Thought he did OK in the VFL game.
He's in line to come in if there's an injury or - as Dimma said - there is a specific matchup issue.
A while ago there were suggestions that McIntosh's spot was vulnerable but that idea been surely now been put to rest.
Probably the same with Conca's spot.
However Broad is not playing particularly well right now. Depending on how we go and how he goes and the opponent - BEllis would certainly be a consideration before the end of the season

Broad did his job, nullify the Hawks gun forwards. BEllis can't take on such a role. Broad stays.

Broad was on Nash mostly. Hardly a gun.

The Hawks were rotating talls thru the forward line. Broad was on Gunston when he was deep. Didn't give him a sniff, so much so they moved Gunston down back to try to get some ball later in the game.

Hard to see Broad going out, he's a better lock down player than Ellis & he allows Vlastuin to roam.

I reckon his season is over - Higgins has his spot and he ain’t giving it up in a hurry.
Yep, it’s looking that way.

No way does Ellis come back in, especially for broad

Nah not mostly. Maybe a little time but Nash is too tall. Nash was rendered useless just like the others. Job done.

i am not advocating broad be dropped, but he can play better.

he was mostly on nash and did ok defensively. offensively he can be much better

Totally agree, going for and using the ball he seems to be out of confidence. But defensively he still does his job and in finals I give that extra value over say a B Ellis who may get a lto more ball and be more attacking but can be left wanting defensively.
