Welcome to the Tiggers - Daniel Butler

Our game plan is as unstructured as you can be. It's got to be very hard to coach against.

there's a kind of chaos theory to it but also a great deal of quick thinking. the 'mindfulness' theory.
RFC have turned the game on its head and its spinning people out.

It's not only the man with the ball, it's everyone else too. Instead of running patterns, they sum up the situation and run forward to give the ball carrier options. Our game plan is as unstructured as you can be. It's got to be very hard to coach against.

They actually showed Lambert doing just this at the weekend on Fox. Ball up and instead of joining in the contest as the Geelong players dud (to try and create the maul and force another ball up) he runs straight past, gets out the back and trusts one of the guys in the contest to win the ball and handball over the top. Sets us up so well going forward. Trust in the mids to do their job, and if they lose the contest it shows trust in the defence to turn it over inside our D50 (if it gets there).

He was saying exactly that. What he should have done in that situation, how he should play, what he should do more of, what he shouldn't do. That's Scott Brothers coaching. Our new age cuddle coaching is a lot simpler: "You're here because you can play the game, now go out, back yourself in and play it".
I guess we can fire most of our coaches if the players can’t be given guidance on how to maximise their abilities.

Not sure what you mean. But would you fire the property steward as well ?

I heard Butler is a week or two off running?

Did I hear right?

he may be underdone for finals?

would be a red hot competition for the 3rd midget spot.

I have posted in about 3 other places but his name keeps popping up. Butler spoke at 3121 before the game on Sat and said that he is till 2-3 weeks away but hopes to start running on grass this week?

Tigers did wrong by Butler, when he hurt his ankle they jabbed him and put him back on??
What the *smile* ????

Anyone else see when Butler came off the bench to run back on he nearly fell flat on his face, probably couldn't feel his numbed ankle, (thought we were about to see a Mick McGuane moment), yet he came on and kicked that goal at full pace only to be in a moon boot after game, contentious?

With one of the lowest injury lists in the league (in particular soft tissue) are we really the right people to be questioning our club medicos? They've been pretty bloody good so far.

He is a very important part.to our set up.
Several times on the weekend we needed his finishing and speed.
If he had played the margin wouldve matched round 6 result.
Ankles injuries suck. Remember Foley

thanks Caesar.

be great to get him and Jack, Concs, Dion and Bachar back against the Dons?

and get a fortnight of best 22 continuity into Sept

Seeing baker struggle to chase in the last qtr you realise what butler brings to the table. Hes frustrating at times but the road runner keeps going strong till the end.

Yep Essendon game would be ideal and should be their target. Butler, Bachar and Concs all have tricky injuries so might be racing against the clock for 1st week of finals?
Question: VFL finals start on 1 Sept which is the bye weekend in AFL could a couple of those injured players say come back round 23 against Bulldogs and then play finals at VFL level on bye week for match fitness or would they be precluded from doing so?

Good point , bloody quick and skills are silk , really adds to the front half

theres a good chance that with higlet and geezer in the same forward line, that there will be

a double soccer goal, or something even more preposterous soon
