Welcome to the Tiggers - Daniel Butler

That tiny banana pass was weird as all get out. It's like free jazz out there for Butters sometimes; just trying stuff out as it jumps into his head.

But as Thelonious Monk said, pianos don't have any wrong notes.

Some people have Jazz hands
His got Jazz feet.

He showed yesterday why he has to play. Geelong would love a small forward like him.

just watched it again a few times.

he meant it.

and it took precocious to another level.

1 point up in the last.

But the thing is, the defender inside him assumed he was going for goal and kind of stopped.

if he had of handballed to jack or george, the defender may well have intercepted or tackled the recipient.

it was outrageous. Geezer seems to get uniquer by the game.

What it showed me was how relaxed he was in the moment. Other 35-gamers might have panicked. Mindfulness pays off again.

he should be fully realised by 100 games,

and probably able to levitate above packs, and bend the ball in flight.

and *smile* like that.

Eddie was right. That little chip pass was manufactured not luck. I reckon he practices these.

Should have just drilled it on the left

Just had another look, 100% was going to Georgie, he looks at him, Jack comes with momentum from more behind his vision and just chops it off with brilliant hands, bang goal.

i don’t mind his arrogance and show boating
it’s called flair and it’s a good thing to have

Hater.

Should have gone for goal on his left. Needs to be more direct and use his pace much more when he has the ball. Leave the fancy fluffy outside the boot stuff at home. Can be a much better player if he did.

If it gets to George, may not have happened.

How good was Jack? Not too many players can read it and play as instinctively as our Jack.

No, that's not how our team plays. They go for the option they feel most comfortable with. That's the option that has a greater chance of being successful. Embrace the individuality.

Confidence to be you. Embrace the good stuff and accept the flaws. I'm sure if repeated mistakes are made action is taken but Baloo is bang on.

Yep, this really changed things up for us. Rancey talked last year of the difference this made when Blake brought it in. Key issue is it doesn't matter which disposal option you take as long as you make the pass. Then it will be the right disposal. This basically enables everyone to play to their strengths. If one bloke is worried about his short kicking he might kick long or handball and vice versa.

The one big change between the last 12 months and before is how much more confident we have become in decision making and this builds belief between the whole group and why they trust each other to win the ball and make the pass and then get ahead of the ball.

I remember Cotchin saying once about the change from 2016 to 2017 that players were lost in all the complexities of the game plans and they'd decided to simplify it. It's paid off in spades.

I don’t think Harry is saying that. Butler’s dinky plays have cost us a lot more goals than they have contributed IMO so it’s about that individual player understanding his talents better.

It's not only the man with the ball, it's everyone else too. Instead of running patterns, they sum up the situation and run forward to give the ball carrier options. Our game plan is as unstructured as you can be. It's got to be very hard to coach against.

He was saying exactly that. What he should have done in that situation, how he should play, what he should do more of, what he shouldn't do. That's Scott Brothers coaching. Our new age cuddle coaching is a lot simpler: "You're here because you can play the game, now go out, back yourself in and play it".
