Welcome to the Tiggers - Daniel Butler

For most of the year he has been too unselfish and shared the ball and put others under pressure.
He has a lot of mates with poor set shots. As a team our poor conversion will cost us a game or two this year

I wish I could agree.
But there is something about him that worries me.
He is fast but I don’t think he is a particularly smart footballer.
And i reckon he is falling into the old “playing your role” syndrome.
Your “role” should be to compete as hard as you possibly can, and when it’s your turn, go.
Again today I saw him look repeatedly at his opponent in the contest rather than just go flat chat at the ball.
Don’t like it, and think the coaches need to get it out of his game asap.
And twice when he could have marked the ball, he let it bounce. Again. Not good.

Was a mixed bag for sure today. Really should have finished with 5 goals but didn't.
Some of his disposal i50 was horrendous. Looks low on confidence to me.
I expect he will keep his spot next week but he's still on the fringe atm.
Needs to be better than what he is showing currently.

This. And is incredibly selfish. And petrified. But talented.

X3. Frustrating as he does ooze talent. But soft, and a lair.

Getting away with murder. Misses from 35 and 20 then when has near open goal could not wash his hands of it quick enough...the pass to Mcintodh in the 4th who kicked out on full.

Yep confidence. Was a really good set shot for goal last year.

I’m as bigger a critic as any of Butler, however the kid kicked his 3 yesterday so I’d say he got the job done yesterday .

Reckon Geezer musta been trying to fulfill Georgies chaos forward role yesterday. Did a bit of the usual classy make things look easy Geezer stuff n backed it up with a few crazy Castagna chaos moments.
Got three on the board to back up Caddy's bag so he's got the job done, but yeah it could have been so much more.

Having an opinion on his football is one thing however calling the kid a liar is poor form.

Watched the game highlights and although all 3 goals were kicked pretty much within the 10 metre mark you have to give him credit for the first two goals, he got himself into beautiful position to take advantage and was very collected. Also had a good number of pressure acts so did what was asked of him, he just needs to stop so much of the tricky stuff, keep it simple and all will be fine.

Watched Daniel line up and not even get close from 30m and then thought well this is BS who can we bring in? George? well that would make it a 50:50 at best, Shai or Stengle - no both very useful point contributors, Higglet, well he proved no a bit later on.

In the end I concluded that I needed Daniel to be replaced by Daniel or for Daniel to grow a pair and learn to shoot straight when Daniel is almost directly in front and not able to play bloody soccer.

Yes my mistake, would like to say I was hungover but was really just an error.

Daniel was a dead eye *smile* last year, kicked 30 goals 15. So I put it down to confidence. Hopefully he can find that mojo back.
