Welcome to the Tiggers - Daniel Butler

Maybe mate, he's still a pup though so has time to level up a few notches yet.

His lack of attack at the ball was worrying on Saturday. The only possible excuse was that the wind was swirling and he couldn't read the flight but on 3 occasions he sat back waiting for the ball to come to him and on all 3 occasions it didn't. Must want the ball or find someone who does as it looked really ordinary and cost us goals.

I thought it was him trying to turn the simple into something clever by waiting for it to bounce.

Keep it simple Dan. Take the mark, kick the goal.

We forget he is just 21 and has played 18 games. Total. Perspective is required.

Butler and George have played pretty much every game. Should we be worried that neither have been given a rest in their first full senior season? hope they're not hitting the wall... I reckon Butler should have been given a spell 4-5 weeks ago.

Other than catastrophe they get one week off after two more games. .

Putting last week aside, Geezer's only problem is he can spend it before he gets it. I reckon he can iron that out.

I know he is a third year player on the list but I am surprised he doesn't get talked up more in the rising star.

According to AFL ratings has played the best one off game, his average is second amongst nominees.

Curnow and Burton have been good and Powell pepper started off like a house on fire before tiring this year but Dan has been as important if not more so to his team than any of the other nominees.

Needs to improve his strength over the ball and his fumbling. Otherwise been good.

marking is his glaring weakness, probably a concentration thing

Reckon thats it Taz. He's already thinking about what he's going to do with it before he gets it. His mind is really quick and footy smart, see when he dropped the mark against Freo, a lot of others will just pick it up, be tackled and ridden into the ground, he picked it up and handballed it to the ground to try and run round and pick it up for a shot on goal. Once he develops his strength a bit more and deals with his concentration he'll be a ripper I reckon.

Totally agree. Has some traits and smarts that make Dan a very handy player who could develop much more with a bit of extra experience. I reckon he will start to back himself and use his pace to even more advantage.

Been a revelation really considering where he's come from. I like him, works hard, and never let's his head drop. Deserves the two year contract.

Mighta nailed it snakey one.
Was rattling the old grey matter recently trying to think who he reminded me of a bit n it was Michael Mitchell. Both capable of playing at about a hundred mph n being half a step ahead of themselves, n fiddling, fumbling the ball a little bit.
Lots of fun watching Geezer go about it, he's been bloody good value n I'm another who's miffed that he's hardly been rated as a rising star. Kids had a fantastic year.
