Welcome to the Tigers Marlion Pickett!

Marlion, despite his inexperience at AFL level is a finals player, a bit like Graham, they are built for finals and thrive on the pressure.

You can see these two building nicely.

He is damn quick when he hits top speed. His wirery lean body shape will allow him to play for another 5 years if he is upto it I reckon.

As much as he'd be better off going for a tackle, one day he's going to time one of his big bumps perfectly and send an opposition player into orbit. The only concern then is the way the MRO deals with Tigers.

100 games, we need to get him to 100 games

that's the thing, people can moan he should tackle instead of bump, but he hits hard this bloke. hes an exponent of the hip and shoulder.

if he tackles Dangerfield in a prelim, danger gets up; if he times a hip and shoulder on Dangerfield, danger doesn't get up

and we talk about it for 50 years.

Yes, we want to play percentages and win,

but I want romance, intrigue, joy, poetry,

and stories too

Agree, from memory he got the ball back, and we ended up kicking a goal.
I'm a bit conflicted, he definitely should have tackled, but it was an inch or two off being perfect, and I'd be still raving about it.
Baker saved his bacon when he stripped Stagerfield of the ball in a ripper tackle. Marlion should have definitely tackled in that situation But to his credit buttered up, got the loose ball and delivered up field to a team mate which lead to George’s sealer (I’m still a little in shock that George kicked a goal he should have).

Anyway Marlion’s last few weeks have been pretty good and I think he’s earning his spot in the side.

And we want the kids in the future, because I reckon they could be special.

Just gets more impressive this bloke.

By round 5, I thought the experiment was over, but he's become a crucial cog

Thought he was excellent against the cats.

Best if he aims for a Towner type of rugby tackle, which combines the impact of a bump with the disabling/dispossessing effect of a tackle. His almost-bump on Henry was useless.

Loved his game tonight. Did some great defensive work that won’t be rewarded with stats.

Liked his game off the half back flank. Feel better with him there than in deep defence.

Had some moments of extreme urgency did Marlion. Like he knows he’s in the 18-22 range.
