Yeah that's nonsense. Marlion is an OK second rotation mid. He's got some class, but still is not fully up to the level. Shai is already elite.

Truthfully Marlion is a good bottom 6 player when we have our guns in the side - and that's fine.

You are pretty much on your own with this argument about how good Marlion is.

Remember this guy is 28 and still getting 10 possies / match. Recruiting players at his age is for immediate impact, we got that in the GF, he's played maybe 2 good games since then.

If the last 3 games where Dusty has been good have been because Pickett has been blocking for him, where was he in the rest of the games this year??

I touched on this during the game but on all the footy stuff i have watched not on replay of his mark. Likely because there is no accompanying exciting commentary which Brayshaw at least gave to Ah Chee's mark.

The commentary was blatantly one sided. We were dumbfounded when we kicked a goal and the conversation they were on just continued on then port kicked a goal and it was the most brilliant footballing feat of all time! This happened quite a few times throughout the match.

McChin’s was so busy carrying on about a free that Port didn’t get paid, that Wasn’t there in the first place, that he almost missed the mark. He belatedly assessed it a ‘good’, this was despite referring to regulation Port mark earlier in the game as ‘brilliant’.

Marlion does a lot of things that a coach would love, as alluded to above. Don't think his impact would be measured by possessions.

Exactly my point! EVERYONE needs to show they can deliver week to week in the grind of mid season. WE were slaughtered yesterday even some of our senior players like Lambert, Lynch and Jack, not just Pickett.

And I just don't get the GF argument? Everyone saying he is living off his fairytale debut or 'dining out' on it. Thats the sort of *smile* an disinterested auntie makes up ... or a nuff nuff.

I'm really liking Marlion on the wing. Building with every game. Love his aerial work on the wings, privides a contest everytime. Never gets beat in the air.

Marlion and Kmac wing pairing will confuse and scare the *smile* out of our opponents. The sharpest pairs of elbows going around.

I can totally understand all the positive reports on Pickett, not hard to see the sublime stuff he does and of course the games not all about possies , however again only 13 tonight , I’m still sitting on the fence with him, yes he’s best 22 for me but not best 18 with what’s coming back in, I hope he shirt fronts me off the fence next week with a Dean Polo like Dreamtime performance

Yep he's going okay but needs to get more pill playing on the wing. Also needs to get the overzealous (sometimes just stupid) stuff out of his game. That tackle on Ellis early in the 3rd quarter was unnecessary and undisciplined. Lucky it didn't cost a goal.
