But he has been playing injured and for most of last year didn’t have the agility needed to do well.
Soldo becomes more valuable to us because of this.

He has value on the open market and his former coach wants him.
If McCartney really wants him as well as our future 1st, for Hopper, with us accepting all of Hoppers salary plus some of Soldo’s, maybe we should wait for next year and get him as a free agent.

1000% we learnt from the mistakes last year.
Hopper will come over but McCartney is pissing me off.
If is as good as they think he is why haven't they pulled him aside and made him an offer to stay at GWS longer then just next year.
Hopper has alread said he wants to play on the G in front of more then 500 people.

That’s a fair point. The trade will get done one way or another but it will be closer to the end of the trade period.

I'd prefer to keep Soldo so we have 2 senior ruckmen on the list. Switching Soldo for pick 30-36.
This pick also blows out due to academy/FS.

He really isnt that good. If we think Soldo is the answer to our ruck woes then we are asking for trouble. Sorry but Soldo is a battler. He wasnt very mobile pre knee injury and hes only going to get worse.
Id rather we look at a more talented young ruckman with more upside.

Suspect next years first and a pick swap. They need Hopper off the books and he wants to come to us.

Also, when asked McCartney never mentioned they'd hold him to his contract. He'll never admit it but he knows they can't.

Taking Soldo with punt road paying his salary plus Hopper and his salary plus pick 30, should be more than enough.

Maybe GWS are waiting to see if we can offer a better pick through the late trade of JG.

Maybe we are waiting to push GWS to a more reasonable assessment of Hoppers true value.

Adding Hopper as a free agent next year for salary only, plus retaining pick 30, Soldo our future 1st 2nd and 3rd and whatever else they may ask for, would be sensible and entirely reasonable.

- pre knee injury he was fast becoming out number 1 ruck In a good field of chol and nank
- highly valued at tiger land. maric is a big fan. Maric is on record saying that he soldo is highly resp at tiger land.
- he is probably paid between $250 to $400. Invaluable to have good solid players on the list at this price. Helps to pay the big $$$ to the stars
- was his 2022 form really that bad that some are making out here?

Kingsly will know all this and if soldo goes to gws we should be getting good value if he is included in any trade.
