He should never have been made captain for precisely this issue. It makes a pretty average / replaceable player undroppable. Having said that agree with Leysy, if they want Soldo they can grab him.

Geez, harsh on Nank Kev. Pretty Average? He's led the ruck division (and been huge in big games) for 3 flags.

8th in the B & F this year says he's internally regarded as a lot better than "pretty average".

8th in the BnF would have him bang in the middle of players who have played frequently. Which I would consider average.

Soldo first ruck. Very very large leap of faith that.
hes played first ruck for us alot. not sure what u mean by very very large.............
you would rather pluck someone from the state league and let him play AFL first ruck??
understand your thinking but thats a much much larger leap of faith i would have thought?? esp if he has to play heaps of games due to injury or others form...

dont think its a good idea to trade a player in a position where you only have 1 developed ruck, and then a skinny develping kid. and then nothing else.
plenty of other players in positions we have cover for. RCD, aarts, george, mansell, hugo, biggie, martyn, banks, stack, etc. why do we have to get bent over giving up a player we need in a position we are short of. after already giving them 12 and 19 for taranto.
i bet geelong dont get bent over for bruhn. prob a second rounder and thats it. yet we have to give up multiple picks and players we need.....???

So they want overs for both players?
Tell 'em to *smile* off and in 12 months we get him for nothing.
They got overs for Quentin.
They need to go unders for Dennis.
Why are we so soft on these deals?
That's why clubs are happy to deal with us.
Because they know they can bend us over.
Hardball time.

And on one leg after doing his PCL. The Nank is immense for us, he hobbled from contest to contest towards the end of the season, what a warrior.

Well he's a very very large player.

So our Captain is playing in the twos?

Yeah not happening. More chance of Stack being elevated to the leadership group than Nank playing in the reserves.
He should have been playing in the twos this year.

If he hadn't been selected in our final, we would have played in week 2.

Played with a PCL injury for a good chunk of the year too

We need these guys to handle negotiations
we’d get 2 firsts from GWS and Hopper for our pick 30

Will be hard to see Ivan S go, but to get something you have to etc etc.
There's always a ruck rookie out there somewhere looking for another chance, look at Hickey.
For every Hickey there are 5 reserve rucks that dominate at the lower level but offer little to a top afl side

what was Adan Cooney smoking when he thought this one up? We get absolutely reamed on one :rotfl2

Was Cooney actually thinking of Collier-Dawkins when he came up with this? We’ve just given Ross a new contract (and trading someone in those circumstances is always a bad look) and the points difference between 31 and 24 is the equivalent of pick 57-58. RCD, however, is out of contract and this is probably about his value (or a delisting if no takers).

Go put that where sun don’t shine.

This has the Hawthorn O’Mera & Mitchell mistakes written all over it.

Pay too much in draft capital and bites u on the ass
I am well out of my depth on Hoparanto - are they both one-paced? - but it does have a distinct Hawks top-up odour around it.

Been a fair bit of Covid water under the bridge since '19 but finishes of 10th, 7th and 14th, doesn't scream to me 'peak prime movers.' Although readily admit haven't watched a lot of GWS recently.

From my perspective Hopper is the genuine inside mid and thats his go. I’d be expecting him to be racking up big time midfield minutes. Like a bigger Prestia.

Taranto more flexible, can be a mid and a forward. Suspect he’ll be a 70/30 or 60/40 proposition for us depending on who’s fit and playing.

Just my opinion.

FFS Hopper is a salary dump!!

Should be pick 30 and a VFL player.
Dee's will get Grundy for a 2nd round pick.
