Welcome to the Tigers - Daniel Rioli

Dimma has mentioned that Rioli may get a gig on Thursday. I hope so. I'd love to see how he'll go.

Mentioned on SEN that Dan will get a gig tomorrow - good to see. Hope he can snag a few goals in front a big crowd. If they rest Hammer forward he should get plenty of crumbs :p

Got the gig, gents. Good times. I hope he can adjust quickly and use the ball well. The rest I think will work out.

Fwiw I think Daniel is a mid. And an aggressive one. Go Rioli!

Good stuff. :clap

First goal will tear the stadium down.
Good luck to Rioli.

I like how the match committee give the 1st selection in the draft the debut game in round one.

It must be great for their development to get a taste for it on the big stage of the round one season opener.

Have a great game DR

For me this is what I'm most excited by tomorrow.
I've got to taper expectations & reserve comparisions but geez I am looking forward to seeing another Rioli in the Richmond number 17.

Can't wait to see this young bloke on the big stage.

Feel like he will get better quickly.

Touch of magic.

How?

Of course i hope he goes well, but no form, looks lost at this stage, and a good 5 players more developed than him. this club is weird.

I can't wait for the confidence to leak out of him and get dropped. A good hard Richmondisation. Round 4?

Really, I must be watching a different Daniel Rioli

I went back to the NAB cup stats with an open mind. 12 possessions, 4 and 11.

Not bad, better than I recall, but...i don't see it yet. What is the rush? 1 goal versus Lennon?

Lennon has had Glandular fever, he is not ready to play

He gives the impression that it's a tempo thing, GoPR. That he's very nearly there. His disposal was *smile* in the Escort Cup because it was rushed. But he's at it. Aggressive. Quick and active. Clever.

I cannot swear for the disposal. But he will make it in every other department including mass and strength. I think it could be this year. He's miles better and more advanced than I expected.

I hope we give him the first month in the ones. He has to improve his use.

And BTW he's not a forward. He's a pure mid. But could play high HFF. Has to learn to play more outside but he's a wingman for now.

I've been like that since we drafted him, Tooheys. God help us if and when Maurice Jr comes along.
