The HTB, dropped it cold, a week to dispose of it, not paid against Dawson in the last q in the middle. Gutless.
HTB again seemed to be 2 completely different interpretations depending on the team that would benefit
HTB frees are never our way, as are head high frees - we just never get any - just bizarre, we should have got a stack tonight, but nup.
The holding the ball against taranto would have to be the dumbest free ever, Vlaustins in the back free was also up there as just dumb - or cheating.
God the Crows were soft tonight, falling over like 3 year olds - knowing they would get rewarded - and they did. Luckily karma finally won for us.

This HHTB is really confusing me. The original law and interpretation was barely understandable but with the new interpretation is so arbitrary that it is incomprehensible with one ump calling it one way and another calling it differently
Yet Taranto was tackled as soon as he picked the ball up, had it pinned to him and got done. And the push in the back to Murphy against Vlastuin was a joke.
Just saw a stat: we have lost the free kick count in 24 of our last 26 games. The two games we won it was by a single free each time. The 24 times we lost it was by a cumulative 142 frees.
It looks like bias. Because it is.
The non free that finally got me going was the one on Baker in the last quarter in the goal square. Any other time in the game apart from the last quarter it would have been paid.

No, in a raffle every team over time would get an even distribution of HTB frees.
-77 now, next is Geelong -43 but they haven't played yet. Only 7 teams are negative. Tigers have won 1 free count this year, by 2.
It was technically there, the Adeliade defender wasn't facing the footy and had a fistful of Cumberlands jumper. We don't get those though.
Yep, as soon as jumper is held it's a free. It's probably the thing umps adjudicate more consistently.
Is someone able to provide stats on how many HTB decisions we received last night v how many Adelaide received?

If a Richmond players gets tackled its HTB. if a Richmond player does the tackling its play on (or too high or holds on too long or its a sling, etc)
I said this after the Port game earlier in the season, but I think opposition teams now use the umpiring as a tactic against us. They know they are going to get a good run, so they feign high contact here, fall to the ground easily there, because they know they are likely to receive the free kick.
I honestly believe opposition coaches instruct players to play this way specifically against us more than others.
I don’t think there will be a worse free kick in 2024 than the one against Vlastuin. What Vlastuin did in that contest was perfect defender’s craft.
