Umpire farce - Getting worse by the minute!

They should treat all forwards like they do Richmond forwards and stop trying to grandstand and find a soft bs free kick to a forward near goal. They love to do this, they get all excited.

They admitted it was a mistake, but said no action at all will be taken against the umpire. I assume that means they won’t even ask him to be more careful in the future. What a great gig, you can as many mistakes as you want and be completely unaccountable. They’re paid in excess of $100,000 a season for this.
Spot on. They don't care.

Especially when it comes to the King bros and Curnow

Wow watched replay of Hill in Saints game. Easily took 25 steps, ran 25-30 metres, no free. Happens all the time, many times a game but they chose to pull up Rankine. The Eddie factor still rules the roost at the Pies.

Running too far.
Throwing the ball.
Holding the Man (yes, still a rule).
The mess that is Holding the Ball.
Waiting half an hour to call a ball up.
High tackles paid . . . when they feel so inclined.
Stand . . . or maybe not depending on, well, who knows?
Push in the back, sometimes fine, sometimes not.

It is a mess.

They are turning the game into a farce.

I knew he was a Richmond supporter!
Well instead of using a pissweak excuse like McBurney, Setka should have just had a quiet word to Dillon about the umpires bias towards Richmond. Any more bias and it will cost $millions for add ons for any new afl builds.
And by the way, the afl can contribute 50% of the building and refurbishment costs of PRO. :giggle:

And in a few months time we’ll have a chat about the poxy playing fixture

They will probably punish us even more tomorrow because of him....
I honestly wouldn't put it past them.

There are plenty of people out their like that little Geelong sook Anthony Hudson barracking for anything to spoil the party.

First off, I want to say the maggots didn’t cost us the game tonight. Having said that, they were disgustingly putrid. Why the hawks weren’t penalised for that 25 metre rushed behind bewilders me. We got penalised earlier this year for a less blatant one. I assume the umpires and their “coaches” go through video of each game to assess their performance ( or at least to see where they can improve their positioning for the maximum camera exposure for them). If that’s the case, then I assume they can see which players week after week stage for free kicks ( examples of throwing their heads back feigning too high when it’s nowhere near that, lifting their shoulders ala Selwood to get a high free kick, or just blatantly diving). Having noted who these players are, why do they continually fall for their shenanigans? I mean, they should be embarrassed by this but seem to be masochistic for this weekly humiliation

Lynch was mauled all game, ended up with him giving a bit back after the 3/4 time siren but thats all on the umps.
As you say that rushed behind was ridiculous, how about the deliberate against Sonsie on the Southern stand wing? Or the countless headhigh frees in their forward line when their legs dropped and arms pushed up.

Absolutely putrid game from the umps.

i thoguht they were much better on us than usual - with two exceptions - rewarding all ducks bar one on ginni, and kosi and lynch being interfered with constantly. 25th time in 28 attempts at NOT winning the free kick count, i thought we deserved to win this one something like 18-14, ended up 15-15, by our standards, that's luxury

I will never understand why a free kick is awarded after a player raises their arm causing the tackler’s arm to slip upward and into a high tackle.

How is that tackling incorrectly when the end result is manufactured by the player being tackled?

And it’s now becoming an art with players dropping their knees and looking for it.

None of these should be awarded, and it should have been stamped out years ago.

The Sonsie one was laughable.

In the VFL game, the ball bounced three times and went out of bounds. The moronic boundary umpire called it out on the full against Blight. I was standing next to a Hawks supporter and we both laughed in disbelief.

Yep, much harder to stamp out now that it has been accepted practice for so long.

I don't know who 34 for hawthorn is, and I never want to know. But those multiple blshit free kicks paid to him for constantly ducking and diving are just disgraceful against our game and completely shameful from a hawthorn / afl player. What a shameful act of football cowardice that player displayed. Why does the afl in any way condone such cowardice
