Umpire farce - Getting worse by the minute!

Hawthorn player Frost bashes the ball out of bounds deep in Port fwd line with 3 minutes left and under 2 goals needed. Throw in!. Surely that is the absolute right in the blockhole perfect time to pay Deliberate OOB, the prime reason why the rule was written? Umpiring is in the crapper.

I was listening to 3AW yesterday morning and a caller (Richmond fan) queried why the media aren’t calling out this incredible, years long, bias against Richmond. Caro and Bartel say ONE of the reasons is Richmond’s game style of letting the opposition get the ball first and then put pressure on them which means giving away more frees (for too high or in the back), Bartel agreed.

They don’t get it.
That bs would only explain half of the ledger. Are they seriously saying every other side is squeaky clean and gives proportionately significantly less frees away just when they play us?
As has said here numerous times … It’s the frees we don’t get that makes all the difference.

Reckon the four field umpire decision is wrong. There should only be two at any time.Suggest the AFL look into two in the first half and two new in the second half as this overcomes any argument around umpires getting tired. In the past there was only one field umpire and many have said that does not suffice anymore because of the speed of the game.Well if the likes of Bill Deller were umpiring today they would certainly call out the throws, and dropping the ball, and the many other rules that seem to be forgotten these days. The speed of the game has nothing to do with it.

I know it’s unlikely, but I hope the umpire is spoken to and monitored from here on in, because they clearly don’t have the best interests of the player in mind.

I have said it before. I think it was about Baker getting high hits without ever getting a free kick.
But as a club, I’d be letting the afl and by extension , the umpires know, that we are collecting video footage of each of our players every game.
Every high tackle or hit will be recorded and filed. Ready for any court case that player wishes to take.
If there are concussion cases up before the courts, then the afl, for all their measly words but don’t actually enforce the rules, and the umpires, by name, will be among the defendants cited for any civil action.
Start making some noise in the non sycophantic arse licking afl media and rattle some cages!

So, let’s see here.
Hipwood lays a dangerous tackle that slams Tigga’s head into the turf. Gets rewarded with a free kick.
Tigga, frustrated with the lack of umpire protection from repeated hits to the head over the years, gets into a shoving match with hipwood a short time later. Hipwood gets him high again, Tigga retaliates with a tummy tap, gets a free against him again, plus a fine from the AFL.
Lefau goes for a mark, gets tunnelled, possible jaw broken in that action, gets a free kick against for “ unrealistic attempt” .
Rioli lightly brushes against a lions player, 50 metre penalty. A few occasions last night, after a Richmond player marks the ball, gets a rough shove in the back, no penalty.
Ah Chee, hands clearly on the Richmond player’s shoulders to elevate himself to take a speccy. Mark paid.
We point out that we are continually on the wrong end of free kick counts, going back years, we get called whingers, get laughed at ( even by AFL officials) and also dismissed by media. Salty Scott complains once and the head of umpiring makes a pilgrimage to appease the great one

Am I missing anything?
What am I not getting?

Talk that Hipwood will get suspended for the sling tackle on Vlastuin, for which he RECEIVED a free kick. I can't remember too many times when a player RECEIVED a free for an incident they were subsequently suspended for. I remember a similar thing happening to Kamdyn a few years ago. I'll go out on a limb and say wee would be leading that particular stat, as in the free awarded against us.

Player infringes, receives a free kick from bad umpiring decision, and is subsequently suspended for the infringement. Wouldn't be many. The stat could be called "undisputable uber-clanger umpiring decision".
We r trailblazers snake, you have pointed this out many times in the past. Nothing should surprise. What *smile* me are the Ch 7 commentators. Not one of them
identified the sling tackle. In fact they praised Hipwoods aggression. Nathan Jones played with Angus Brayshaw, he said it was great to see your big man throwing his weight around.

*smile* . Where is the apology from the AFL to the club and particularly to Vlas.?

Get *smile* AFL. Get *smile* umpires.

Ginbey tackled standing up in the centre. One arm pinned, holding the ball to his bread basket with his free arm. Ump give him ages, he can't dispose legally, in space so all eyes are on him. Team mate just runs in and takes the ball from him! Play on! All happened slowly, in space. Not in a pack, not fast. Crazy. Comical.

AFL politically correct gender affirmative tokenism. Gotta be at the forefront of affirmative social engineering.
Ludicrous statement on many levels. Her spin is elite. And do you actually believe a man in her posi would be any different? Better? Worse? She is an elite AFL *smile* artist spin doctor, even by AFL standards.

And all the commentators said was that it was a good strong tackle, brayshaw I think it was.
And they were right, it was a very good strong tackle right up until the moment that Flossy's head got smacked into the turf and then it became an illegal lack of care dangerous tackle that nobody saw until the slo mo replay was available to the MRO. Gotta love the hindsight review system that's irrelevant in real time.

The umpire that paid the free to Hipwood should be stood down. Had clear line of sight and no excuse for getting it so wrong. I hope we have demanded as much behind closed doors.
