Umpire farce - Getting worse by the minute!

there were a few shockers, but 2 in particular were worthy of court action if we had lost. The dropping the ball by Breust at FB, play on, they get a goal. Who laid the tackle? Cotchy? Great tackle. there's an undisputed goal to the ump. Then the Jack jumper hold by Sicily, even David King was disgusted in the commentary box. Thats very rare in these days of bewildering rules and interpretations, and AFL control of the media. Basically said it was inexcusable.

Yeah. A couple there were complete jokes and even on the telecast not sure who it was that said at least twice "that's a free kick 10 times out of 10"
Nathan Buckley said that after Sicily’s push that wasn’t paid in the back against Jack.

He was also accepting the pushes today and not trying to keep fighting which makes it look like you are staging when you arent

The clear push in the back to Jack was the most obvious of them all snakey!

The deliberate out of bounds has seemingly gone to a new level. Won't be surprised the 'last touch' rule between the arcs gets discussed again in the offseason. We're almost there now.

Umps very selective when they give frees
The kind of frees they paid the Dawks deliberate out of bounds refused to pay to us

I watched the last q again unbiased without emotion 1 obvious one we got away with 1 probably there we got away with 7 or 8 obvious ones wrong against us and 2 or 3 most likely against us and that's just in one quarter so so so bad and why is it always against us?

Yes. So we gave away 2 frees from kicks where our player was the nearest to the ball (and not far away at all) when it went out of bounds. Free kick Hawthorn into attack twice. Hawks defender standing under the ball, could have marked easily down on the flank and punches the ball out of bounds at right angles to it’s flight. Surely an uncontested marking situation where the player punches the ball in that fashion is “insufficient intent” to keep the ball in play. Sure, if he is punching the ball away from an attempted mark of the opposition but our player was still metres away.

Nothing to see here says all 4 of the blind mice officiating.

How about the dumpires calling our player to play on just after they’ve gone back…happens every week - Marlion then Floss in the last minute were obvious rubbish calls. floss in particular took the mark and looked left and got told to play on.

This needs to be the focus of improving umpiring. Reduce the "interpretations" to binary and remove rules that serve no purpose such as standing. There needs to be a focus on fundamentals. Reduce the threshold for holding the ball like they said they would last year. It's atrocious how long they can hold the ball for then throw it out.

Nah, that won't help. When they can ping Tarranto for holding the ball when he never had it and Riewoldt can be dragged to the ground trying to go for a mark and still not get a free, there simply is no rule simple enough for the rabble that umpire AFL games.

I saw another one of these where Balta got the hurry up. Yet not 30 seconds later a Hawthorn player marks, sits down and has a fag while watching the clouds go by and no play on while we all twiddle our thumbs in the crowd. What a joke.

Umpire 37, Martin Rodger, I presume he was bullied at school, I suspect by Richmond supporters in his grade, or a player from the 80's rooted his mum, and dumped her.
Cos somehow, he *smile* hates us.

Don’t know why, but it seems to happen to us a lot this year whereas most other sides it’s ‘stand’, ‘stand’…

US , play on….

Four has made it even worse.

How can we be the most undisciplined, poorly skilled at tackling, continually block players from marking ( back or forward), continually hold players in marking attempts, drag players from attempting to pick up the ball, so on….
Oh and we don’t try to keep the ball in and every other side disguises it better than us!

Guess the stats don’t lie.

We are last on the table at getting “frees”, AGAIN.
There were three blind mice now there are four of them.
