Trade Week - Richmond Only

Don't disagree with your thoughts, it's just that the market price has now been set and Carlton appear to have been in negotiations with North also with the 12 and 14 deal.

Who would now pay what would seem to be way overs compared to that Carton and West Coast deal in an even top end of the draft?
Whatever the price would be it will 100% have to include pick 6 or North won’t do it.
It just depends on 6 and what?

Now which of those posters wanted to hoist the white flag for a late pick for Baker?
Ah they know who they are. No need to rub it in.

I will say though, because it's a fan site, we can often be very accepting of things, or make a lot of allowances for Richmond when often we shouldn't. It's ok to not just want the best for Richmond, but also get the best FROM Richmond. Big difference.

18 from Freo would have been *smile*. A full 4 spots backwards. Terrible.

Anyway, unlike some, Blair has got the standard value most of us were expecting all along for Baker, so it's onwards and upwards from here.

Let's get commensurate value for Bolton now as well.

To put the Baker trade in perspective. We'll get more than the Dogs will get for a similarly contracted Bailey Smith.

We love Bakes, but Smith is the better footballer - plus a full 3 years younger.

100% this is great work from Blair.

Getting pick 14 for Baker who was a rookie pick is a good result.

With the Eagles having secured in Bakes and Owies, Mini looks to have locked in his small forwards.

Not really. Its just standard work from Blair - as mb64 posted earlier. Yeah, he helped resuscitate the WCE deal after Clarke ** things up, but its just the exact same value that was always there. Clarke also had no choice really. Blair's best work was months ago when establishing pick 14 to begin with.

The Bailey Smith situation is a total rip-off effort by Geelong. Entirely different. Not apples with apples. Only the GMM - Geelong Media Mafia - think that's a fair deal.

Based on Carltons trade, would we be able to do 6 and 14. Then we keep 10 and 11. Go to the draft with 1, 2, 10, 11, 20, 23, 24

If all the dogs will get from Geelong for Smith is their 1st rounder it would have been done already imo.
Dogs want Geelong’s F1 as well

And so they should.

Mackie is a total awipe. Everyone in the industry outside of Geelong knows that. Go Dogs.

Whilst the above is true. Geelong have the Dogs over a barrel.

The dogs will either have to accept Geelongs first or they'll walk him to the nat draft.

Smith won't talk to any other clubs to get a gauge of his mental state or do a physical to get his knee checked out. And given his mental/physical history no-one else will take him.

And Geelong know it.
