Thomson Dow

Not able to watch the game, but checked the AFL site for details.
Why pick a kid like this, then not have him attend one centre bounce. That's just dumb. He doesn't have many elite traits, and the one he does we're not putting him in a spot to use it.
What message does that send?

He attended centre bounces. There were several goals to the Suns where you see vision of Rowell or Anderson sprinting from him and delivering the ball inside 50. He was a non entity in the centre bounce for pretty much the entire game, didn't get near winning centre clearances, Rowell and Anderson were way too good for him.

Why do you think he didn't attend centre bounces?

USELESS enough said. Stop trying to talk him up. Exactly like his brother.

If you look at today games and the Essendon Dreamtime game last year it shows that Dow absolutely crumbles under real pressure.

For me, today was a career killer performance for him. Should only be brought back into the side when all other options have been exhausted.

He’s a VFL footballer not AFL standard must be dropped for McAuliffe

Dow was very ordinary today, I had high hopes after a promising pre season.
Like some posters have mentioned, looks like Dow is VFL standard .

Based on his preseason, I'm prepared to give him another game.

But today was possibly a career ender.

Seemed weak and ineffectual, unlike his showing in the preseason games.

Unable to have the same impact in the real stuff it seems.

Too slight / small / not strong enough?

Bloody disappointing. It was as if he realised the big boys came out to play and he stepped aside.
