I saw it another way - that despite being under pressure when he managed to grab the ball - he was usually pretty good at getting a good handball away to a bloke on the outsideYeah was good. Still his possessions always feel under pressure. Doesn't make a lot of time/space for himself. Might be just me.
I agree. It's something we've lacked since Edwards retired, a mid that puts others into good positions. He seems to read the play really well and knows where his teammates are, and doesn't try to do too much by himself, which guys like Dusty, Shai and Rioli can do sometimes.Yep, one of the few in our midfield who can put a team mate into space/a better position… so many of our midfielders just treat the ball as a hot potato and handball the pressure to a nearby team mate.
He is very fit, hopefully develops into a fine 2-way playerHe works very hard defensively too. A lot to like.
