Thomson Dow

If you found yourself at Drofderburi Thai for dinner which would you prefer - Pad Dow or Thom Dow?

The brothers have many limitations. Each looks a late bloomer. Thom Dow maybe a bit less so.
Good restaurant that. I recommend the Larb Gai Shai Chicken Salad.

Less late or less bloom?
Pad Dow is almost 24 and is working up to 20 touches and a regular game. Two years younger and working towards a senior game and 20 touches Thom might be less late and/or more bloom. Thom getting more TOG atm.

Seriously? Taranto has a lot more strings to his bow than Dow. In the mix for AA this year and has been a very good player ever since he entered the league. Yes he needs to improve his kicking but the positives far outweigh the negatives.

Dow is a plodder who likely does not have a whole lot upside from what we see now.
Other poster said we need to get rid of players who are poor by foot such as Dow. He indirectly suggested players such as Taranto had to go.

Yes, Taranto is a very good player.

P.Dow played 39 games in his first 2 seasons. Season 3 missed most of it with knee injury.
Sure he probably hasn’t lived up to his draft pick, but your not even being realistic comparing them.
Yeah I know but it was facetious stupid *smile* which most probably recognized.

Needs to lose the black boots as they make him look slower than he really is.

He may have played a couple of reasonable games the back end of the season but the gods must be smiling on Thomson to get a contract extension
Agree. Got lucky with the retirements this year and our lack of draft picks due to the Hopper/Taranto trades.

Nothing shown to date suggest he’s AFL quality.

I wouldn't have resigned on the past 4 years body of work.

Luckiest bloke going around.

Got saved from a certain delisting last year because of his contract. now gets saved cos the club has no draft picks and blokes retirring.

Got through by the skin of his teeth. Luckiest player on the list barring Miller (will obviously be a make or break year for him as well).

Got 27 disposals along with 6 clearances in round 24 against Port, that needs to be the benchmark for Thommo.

Got coaches votes in the last round at AFL level.
Surely there’s optimism that he can play a depth role.

I think he demonstrated he has AFL qualities. But I don't think he's demonstrated he is quality AFL.
If he can tidy up that kicking so it's not a liability, he might eek out a career yet.
