The RIP thread

Gotta love this exchange between Max and his Uncle Abner:

Uncle Abner: What do you do, Max?
Max: Same old thing, of course I was promoted since I saw you last.
Uncle Abner: Promoted to what?
Max: What was I before?
Uncle Abner: Before what?
Max: Before I was promoted.
Uncle Abner: You weren't the president of the company.
Max: Well, now I'm not the vice president.

Found it here but the quality isn't good:

Moment please, the Claw was in two episodes :). Harry Hoo was also in two (one with the Claw)
The Craw was in at leaset 2 episodes. Some of my favourite one shot characters were Don Rickles as Max's old army buddy (he was in 2 episodes, but it was a single story broken into 2 episodes) and Carol Burnett as a country singer. The King of Coronia who also appeared in a few episodes was great, but that was just Don Adams with a moustache and a Ronald Coleman voice. His cousin Ruprecht was played by James Caan, and would only appear if he wasn't credited.

Blood oath. Hymie was a brilliant character in a brilliant show. Built so he would be able to kill ruthlessly without conscience, turns out to be the biggest softie sook ever. And his literal interpretation of everything. He got me every time.

Also so many memorable characters who only had one appearance, the groovy guru, simon the Likeable, the Craw, and Max's Uncle and Auntie.

Ha ha Hymie was awesome. What about the episode where Max asked him to kill the light and he pulled out his pistol and shot the globe!!

Geez get Smart was a great show. As a kid I used to love watching it with my dad; great memories.

I think that was Hymie's first appearance. Gautier was highly talented, he played Conrad Birdie in the Broadway production of Bye Bye Birdie and he was also Robin Hood in When Things Were Rotten, which was another Mel Brooks parody.

I love this stuff. I find the show amazing, same dumb jokes every episode, yet I laugh every single time! I loved Simon the Likeable. 'One of the most ruthless, vicious, cold hearted killers on the face of the earth' (Simon smiles at Max), 'and he's also a VERY nice guy'.

As a naive (bit of a dud) kid ;D, I was always bewildered on how Bernie Kopell looked older in Get Smart (60s) than in The Love Boat (70s).

Admiral Hargrade one of my faves ("Will somebody give me a little push?").
Played by William Schallert who also passed away last year.

Just read that Gordon Kaye (Rene out of Allo Allo) passed away yesterday.

He looked over 100 during the series, surprised to find he was only in his 40's (playing a 91 y.o.).

Loved Allo Allo. Used to wait for Rene to round on his wife witn a cry of "You stupid woman!"

R.I.P. to those slaughtered in the Bourke St massacre. So tragically sad. :'(

Add John Hurt (The Elephant Man) to the ever growing list of celebrities no longer with us. passed away aged 77.
