Yep. The list is getting bigger and bigger now. Great actor this bloke.

Sad news on John Hurt. First saw him as Caligula in 'I Claudius' and knew he was a real star. RIP.

Never saw that one, but I recognised him more in The Elephant Man, 1984 and Midnight Express to name a few.

Well, none of them are not going to die.
I'm sure I could come up with a pretty comprehensive list of celebrities over the age of 80 that are still with us.

While on the topic, I think this stuff about 2016 having claimed so many celebrities is rubbish.
We are now about 50 years after the iconic 60s which was where so much of our pop culture stems from - particularly regards to music and sit-coms.
So people who made their names then when they were in their 20s and 30s are now in their 70s and 80s.
Only to be expected.
And as we get older there are more celebs that become famous and we get to know.

Pretty sure we'll be saying the same thing towards the end of 2017.

RIP John Hurt.

Agreed. The 60s, 70s and 80s was a Golden period for music, TV, movies and popular culture.

Time catches up in the end.

Exactly right Dane. Sometimes I wish I was back in the 20th century again....

Head to the 'G on Feb 14. That will take you back to 1987.

I kissed a few girls on St Valentine's Day when I was 21 in that year. ;D

Wassup at the G jimbob?

Oh yes, I just looked it up. Don't know if Axl or Slash would retain their old energy again. Wolfmother might be the best act....

I'm sure it'd be a decent show but the long hiatus works against them, there hasn't been the evolution that allows e.g. AC/DC to get away with it.

They have done a a run of shows already and they have all kept performing away from G'NR. Not expecting another Calder.

Former Richmond star (well he did play 6 games for us...) Daryl Sutton has died aged 64.

Dan Vickerman. 37yo ex-Wallaby. Tough enforcer on the ground. Way too early.

Sad to hear. I'm reading nothing suspicious, so what happened?

Lifeline mentioned at bottom of article so one can only assume that it was self inflicted. May he RIP.
