I was at the WA Supporters Club function before the Freo game this year & Sean Darcy was a special guest !, was hilarious watching Flea interview him !.

I said to a couple of the no flag flogs who were hanging around that he was there to collect a brown paper bag !

I think we'll be more likely to trade, though. King and Cadman the likely targets, hoping to get one of them. Clug would be the one for me if we go for a free agent. Same age bracket as Shai, Taranto, Bakes, Rioli, Hopper, Balta, and the kind of classy, pacey mid we need. Feel he'll be hard to prise out of Brisbane though.

Brisbane’s culture seems solid enough, and they are thereabouts every year.

But I reckon another MCG failure would give some senior players pause.

In this scenario Clug might be unpluggable

And his footy soul uncluggable

Agreed. I think we are better spending our money on a key forward.

Agree. I would rather we spend that money on a key forward. Rucks dont win you premierships.

Rucks can win prelims.
They are not valuable.

But the real point is where to buy rucks.
They can mature late.
Half of the best came cheap.
So get them as late draft speculatives. Or trade for a pick 30-40ish.

Dont trade or pay top dollar

Banking those picks to leverage against clubs needing points for academy kids or father/sons. If we do it well, could end up with another couple of 2nd Rd picks

Do we know he's a tragic or was he just a supporter growing up? I'd love to get him but suspect he'll get games early in 2024 and a nice extension contract waved under his nose.

It could also be, as Clarke alluded to, moving to the “front end” of the 2024 Draft to leverage off all the FS clubs and just selecting players from within it.
