Talking Politics

Politics would have to be the dirtiest business.

Indeed.

Good onya Kim. I reckon you were a decent bloke and may have made a great PM once but time had passed you by as far as the public having enough faith to give you enough votes. Too many Labor failures and too much unrest. Very sad to hear about his brother dying Jools. A tragic day.

Rudd speaks well but the vote indicated Labor are still far from a united force. It will be interesting to see if they can get their act together long before next year's election or if they'll be in self-destruct mode. If option a is the case Little Johnny Bonsai will have reason to be very nervous.

Agree about Gillard Impossible. She annoyed me standing beside Rudd all week nodding her head and saying nothing. Seemed more like a party puppet than the woman I thought might have what it takes to knock the Libs off their perch.

I think she has the strength to knock Rudd off his perch. We have seen nothing yet. A woman sitting at the top like that, who has'nt made any commitments outside of the Parliamentary office, wouldnt settle ONLY to stand next to the leader, particularly when her initial agenda was competitive against him. There is more to come.

Gillard is an extreme socialist and would never ever ever make a good PM.

The Labour party is a joke and are going no where long term, forget opinion polls, people will jump of these two morons very quickly over the ensuing months as they showcase there ineptness.

Remember some actually thinking Latham would be a good PM give me a break funniest thing ive seen and heard for past 5 years.

Caucus is killing Labour with extremist left wing factions that will never allow for part stability and process. They are a fan of Gillard though but A labour government headed by Rudd and Gillard will be an absolute disaster for this country and will send us back to the deep dark days of Federal Labour of recent times.

Once again no i am not a right wing supporter i just look at the big picture and having these two muppets in charge is a blight on the Labour Party and a joke.

What this country needs is a Labour leader with focus, image, smarts, policy and the ability to control the extreme left. This leader must be moderate, to appeal to the masses, industry and business.

Rudd and Gillard are most certainly not moderates and i will sit back and watch this mob unravel at a great rate of knots when the extreme left wing of the caucus starts to pusg there agenda.

written authorised and spoken by Craigybabes for the non politically aligned faction.

Sometimes ambition and shrewdness is all it takes to lead a party.

Irrespective of how moderate someone may be in terms of their faction alignments, it is the above that ultimately wins the race.

I believe Gillard and Rudd are too pre-occupied with their own agendas to truly fullfill what it should really be all about...an australian agenda.

Well put IA i'd just simply say they are most definately not the sort of people this country needs in government.
Self efficacing muppets that will send this joint backwards. It scares me to think about it.

Not a wrap for Mr smirky Costello either whose own personal agenda earlier in the year will have left many with a bitter taste also.

Will someone worthy of leading this great country please stand up.

Hahahaha IA i wouldnt mind but this country just aint ready for me. :hihi

Tell you what tho i might canvas some other PRErs and we might whack a party together.

...and Howard and Costello aren't???

I agree jb, Rudd's far more likely to put heat onto the Libs than Kim ever was.
I was impressed with his Rookie speech yesterday and I think he spoke like a leader.

Time will tell but this country needs a decent opposition that's for sure.

Every single politician would have a personal agenda Im sure....but personal views shouldnt steer policy or the likes...working for Australia and fellow Australians should be the key.

Rudd sees the role of the Christian in politics as focusing on social outcomes, including opposition to what he terms "market fundamentalism". Quite a few Christians, especially in the outer suburbs and regional centres where most of the marginal seats are located, see it differently. Many do not acknowledge a difference between private morality and public policy. Beazley backed Howard's sensible idea to fund the appointment of chaplains in government and private schools. But this policy was opposed by some Labor backbenchers (for example, Senator Trish Crossin) and some union leaders (for example, Mary Bluett) who argued that the position should be secular, rather than religious.

And I tend to agree....they should be secular and not religious!

Amen.

I think Gillard will be much better then Jenny Macklin as deputy as well.

Saw the Australian story about her on th ABC, very smart woman.

Gillard has tried very hard to perfect the image she wants to project. (elecution lessons and all) I believe her views are way too subjective in some instances, and not necessarily representative of majority Australians.

Gillard has denied she has taken elocution lessons.

Your right about that jb, but the difference in her voice and pronounciation is obvious.

Why would she flaunt it?
