Agreed. That’s a start.
Corporations that are making $millions in Australia and pay stuff all taxes. Overseas hq income diversions, tax havens, family trusts and all the other taxation reduction practices that aren’t available to the PAYE people. Some of these taxation laws are antiquated, going back decades, the taxation laws need to cover these modern day corporations like Facebook, instagram, TikTok all those Alphabet companies and others that pay minimal tax in the country where they make $millions.
Make them pay their fair share.
Corporations like BHP, Rio and other multi nationals that have their hq in Singapore or Ireland and sell their products to an offshore company they own to pay minimal tax. Then reap the benefits. Close those loopholes. If they want our resources, pay a reasonable price.
I know governments get some royalties, but all those mineral resources should be crown resources. It’s “our land” and the resources under them are “ours” how these corporations come and strip our wealth without a fair return defies belief.
Pay up you bastards. Get a bipartisan department in to look at all these loopholes that benefit a few. Rather than the Australian people getting a fair return on our resources.
If they don’t want to pay up, get another company in that’s less greedy.
