Steve Morris F/S

How can we continually give games to a guy that is playing with one shoulder and has been beaten each week by his opponent?? Easy, Dimma's favourites!

He falls over and shoulder kills him - he aint that good that he cAn carry it. Wayne Carey he aint!

Not only are we playing a guy with one shoulder but the coaching staff decide to play him on a marking lead up forward. Coaches should do the right thing by steve and give him a rest.

No sense in playing Morris who can't raise his right arm even has trouble running as he's clearly in pain because of his right shoulder
Give him a break to get fit If it means he ends up on the LTIL time to promote Miles or Banfield

Morris suffers from the inertia of others. He gets up and going and finds himself all alone. Others refuse to go with him.

I prefer him to others - at least he takes on the game. Could he play forward? Run-with?

Run-with is interesting when gets arm right.

May be too imaginative for Dimma

However Banfield couldn't get a game with Brisbane, why is he the answer for us all of a sudden.

May have been out of favour with Vossy
We lack pace
Banfield provides pace and good defensive pressure needs to be given a go

Trier, but not good enough to take you to top 4. He wasn't the worse tonight and remember he was only playing with one arm.

I know this player. And as I've posted in the past I'm not a huge fan. I would never patronise him by saying that he tries very hard or gives his all for the jumper or any other such snide *smile*.

Since he debuted Mozza has improved his tightness. He's not that good in the air but he hits the contests very hard. If he gets it we're too often in trouble.

Mozza has improved but coming from a low base of genuine smarts not enough to warrant much praise IMO. My view has been that he hasn't improved his footy smarts enough. We have to move on for class and Mozza doesn't have that.

I'm reassessing all that based on Morris's last quarter tonight. (Was he on Billy all night?) If so Billy chopped him up. But eh, Billy, IMO, is the best small forward in the comp - at what 21?

I think it was the third quarter. Mozza did that thing with the humerus head hanging out of the socket (same as last week). Jogged to the bench, got it put back in. He wouldn't have vomited. A lot do.

In the final quarter he hit the fall hard. *smile*, so hard. And then he did the thing. He used the ball. Morris got us going in the last quarter. It was leadership.

I wasn't wrong to doubt him. He had more to give. More of the last quarter, Steven Morris, and make a player of yourself. Awesome.

Really? Why the *smile* are we playing him if he is injured? He's not Corey Enright FFS. That is just dumb and unprofessional of the club if it's true.

Morris is as tough as old boots and as hard as a cat's head. But he makes stupid decisions with the ball, has very few footy smarts and his skills are pretty ordinary.

All in all he's not good enough. No doubt he will enjoy a rewarding career of 100 games plus at the home of football mediocrity.

Chill. He isn't Graeme Landy, but he tries his jocks off.
Rather watch him then half the CATS we have running around.

Not the point Zips. If he is injured why is he playing? If it's true it's inexcusable.

Your 100% right! but I know as much as you do.
It's hard enough winning a game with 22 fit players

Dafuq, Riddles. They're all injured. Just a dislocating shoulder. He can deal with that. It's the ball he has to learn to deal with. He finally did that tonight.

Maybe he can do it again. I dunno.

It wasn't a good night.

It's not his. Fault but is a prime example of a player that is only rated by Richmond. Gave said it before but there is a reason that players get overlooked at 18. And the main one is no skills. Very few can improve their skills from 18 to 22 in minor comps enough to cut it at AFL. Is another type of Kingy under skilled Backman who is ultimately ca liability in defence. Only hope for Steve is a move forward to replace said Kingy.

There's no if about it. He's injured. One of the bravest footballers I've seen and thought he was one of our better players. That tackle of on player, get up, chase, and tackle another player typifies his game. If only some of our other players had half the guts and determination he has. But it's unfair to play him injured. Must be on injections and the more he plays the more serious damage that can occur. He must rest and get it fixed.
