Steve Morris F/S

Gave everything on the field. Was in the leadership group at one point and is obviously a good influence around the club. History will record him as a stepping stone to the flag; there are lots of them.

The Morris of 2012/13 was fantastic. The dashing half back flanker.

But with each passing year it got worse. He played 64 games in his first 3 seasons, 23 in his last 3.

It was chalk and cheese watching the dashing half back flanker Morris with the defensive forward Morris and the defender Morris who no longer got much of the ball and was always late to the contest.

Averaged 15 disposals a game in 2012, down to 10 in 2013 and 8.7 in 2015.

Think he had to play injured a lot
I remember Dimma say something along the lines he has to push through it

I loved how hard he was at it. He always made his opponents earn a kick which I love

Great to see a man of his values remain in the VFL program.

glad he's staying at VFL - reminds me of the guys who got the 'Best Clubman' trophy in juniors - btw i never got anything.

Not super talented Stevie M. But one thing that was guaranteed every game was the manic work effort n intensity at the contest. Coincidence that so many of our youngsters presented with those same traits week after week? Perhaps Stevie's input n influence over recent years is far greater than we could ever imagine. I'm pleased that the club will be keeping Stevie M around the magoos, pretty bloody sure he'll be a quality footballing role model for the youngsters coming through.

Morro took over MC duties from Flea in 3121 yesterday, did a great job, very funny & asked the guests some very interesting questions

Seen him last year at the reserves games when injured, and he is a very good motivator who at that stage was pumping up Towner who went on to BOG.
Seems very well respected around the club but was just shot at senior level, was one of my favourite players early days.

My wife is doing the ‘This Girl Can’ fitness program for female members at Punt Road and Morro has taken a couple of the sessions. She said he’s been nice and has worked them hard. Excellent to hear that as well as captaining the VFL team he is getting involved in this kind of thing.

An hour of star jumps would be a nightmare!

(unless Broady's gal was taking the class!)
