I dont want excuses, I now where they came from.
They all has fathers that played in the AFL!
If he isn't like Johnat

I want a F/S like Johnny Brown or Silvagni
Not these cheap pick 200 F/S
Is he good enough to get a game at port or Collingwood?
If the answer is Port, delist him before he arrives.
Has got a bearded?

You are missing the point zippadee doo da . They weren't father son picks .

If you want to list players who have fathers who have played AFL who have been at richmond then include Brett Deledio . His Dad played one game .

The only father-son pick we've had in the last 10 years is Tom Roach, otherwise you have to go back to Richo, Joel Bowden and Nick Jewell.

If we don't pick up Morris in national draft then GWS has first crack at him (they can pre-list 10 players from state leagues prior to national draft)

They can do that now and are rumoured to already have 3.

Ok then - hw about Tucky

If we're interested in Morris then it would be stupid to float him down to the rookie or pre season drafts because he then becomes available to anyone who may want a competent minor league player to get a cheap top up with.
If he appears to be a reasonable player with some upside then the only way to go would be F/S and hope to get him with our last selection in the regular draft, it may be pick 60 to 80 anyway. If he's good enough to attract attention from another club then we still get the final say about whether we want him around the price offered.
Unlikely that anyone below us would offer a second round pick, if a higher club offers their second then we get to use our third pick somewhere around 50. Anything later than that and it's lottery time anyway, pick a player and hope like hell.

Hoping we nail him with our 4th pick. Keep our first 2 picks and Maric for 3rd. Or keep 3rd and PSD Maric. Will mean i am over the moon. ;D

If we rate him 80 we should take him 80, if we rate him 100 we should take him at 100. Just because he is f/s or someone might think he is worth 60 is no reason to reach for him early. Use a f/s pick if it represents underpaying for a player, otherwise let him go wherever the cards may fall.

In August no one had heard of him, in September he is our starting back pocket - the key to our improvement and someone we should definately not let slip to someone else. All without most people having seen him play.

And by listing him as a F/S option, if that is what we do end up doing, that is exactly what we will do. If a club bids a pick/round higher than we are prepared to go we just thanks but no thanks. That club is forced to pick him then and that frees the draft up, even if just a smidgin.

Using the F/S allows us, the RFC, to determine/get an advantage just a little in the 4th/5th round of the draft.

Yep! There's stuff all difference in value between a fourth or fifth round draft pick and the PSD or rookie draft. If we are interested in Morris at all then accssesing him via the F/S guarantees us control of his selection.
We get to decide if we wish to pay with our pick later than the market values him. Regardless of the market valuing him at first pick or late fifth round we get to offer our next pick after or decline as we see fit.

Rumour on MMM in Adelaide apparently that Port are going to trade Brogan to GWS (instead of letting him go for free) for Morris.

I am pretty sure that if we want m to nominate him as a F/S pick this cannot happen . F/S nominations are before trade week starts .

That's my understanding too.

Pretty sure that's correct.

However, just means if true there's other interest in him. He's able to decline F/S and join Port if he wanted to stay in Adelaide for example. Would be a good bit of business by Port if they can offload a retiring player for a player they want and also get list protection from further raids next year from GWS.

Will be interesting to see what happens nonetheless.
