Steve Morris F/S

It may be a coincidence, but in the three weeks since Bachar has been out, young Stevie has played his best footy in years.

His relentless attack on the contest has always been good to watch...until he mucked up. Now he often comes out with the ball and runs with it! Still needs to tighten up and be more accountable, but overall there is a much needed improvement to his game.

Credit where it is due. Seems Hardwick always believed when the majority of fans did not. Wonder if having faith makes him a good coach...? Time will tell.

Very True, had a great game on the weekend, starting to play with a bit of composure particularly when spoiling, tackling and running out of defense with ball in hand.

Good point TC. I always thought Houli was a liability but perhaps he is more of a liability than I thought,

Morris has looked much more effective than Houli in running the ball forward. I am sure he will stuff up his fair share but at least he is direct and has intent rather than gently navigating the left flank with floaties.

I fail to see why Stevie and others can't run and create when Bachar is also in the side.

When Houli plays no one else gets much of a chance to run it out of the backline. Houli does most of the work himself

Bachar must be a gun , apparently did the work of both Dusty and Steie when he was in the side.

Morris has improved because he is not sticking to the zone anymore, he is just see ball, get ball unless an opponent is in the way. When he plays predominantly zone he always arrives late on the scene.

Loved it when he took off in a straight line out of defence after we'd been fluffing around with it in the backline for a couple of mins building stats. Ran straight down the middle and it directly resulted in a goal. Was great to see, and is something that has been missing in his game since his first season. Well done Stevie.

Bachar's disposal would probably be a lot better if those around him worked as hard and gave him more options than the long bomb forward he ends up kicking.

Knee iced up in the rooms - Was walking

Walking means nothing. You can often walk after bad knee injury. Fingers crossed its nothing serious as he has improved in the last month.
