Well done to Morris for his past two matches. He hasn't been the liability he has come to be for some time.
I remain unconvinced that he is the type of player, particularly with his average skill sets, that will help propel the Tigers to the tier of elite teams in the competition.
The star-jumping warrior has been a useful and serviceable journeyman for RFC (particularly in the formative stages of Hardwick's tenure), yet if the Tigers are to be more successful in 2017 and beyond then I really can't see a place for Morris in the best 22.

Yep. Seen it time and time again.

Duds will play a couple of okay games by their standards, the club and coach rave about them, they get contract extensions and then fail when you need them most.

He got WAY too many possessions this week. Clearly not following structures.

Dropped.

You reckon Dimma will be having a word with him?

"Stevie Stevie Stevie, 11 kicks & 4 handballs? WTF? That's not how we roll here at RFC. I think you need a stint back in the two's and just remember who you are. Get back to basics ok? More star jumps, more frantic running late to the contest...ok?"

Just interesting with Steves ave disposal figures over his career:

2012: 335 disposals @ 16 per game.
2013: 220 @ 10
2014: 255 @ 12
2015: 122 @ 8.7
2016: 66 @ 11

So from his first season where he averaged 16 disposals a game that was nearly halved by 2015 but is now on the increase to averaging 11 a game so far in 2016. So in this case his first season was his best and has declined over 2013/14/15 but is now seeing a rise.

Question is not only will he ever replicate his 2012 season but will he improve on it?

They hit a peak in 2015 with an average of 16 a game. Its also interesting to note they have decreased to an average of just 8 a game in 2016.

thought so.
he started the season so slow.
Don't know why Dimma hasn't pulled him aside for it.

Just read the write up on the tigers website . How exactly did morris work feverishly in the seconds to regain form . His form form prior was putrid , his form in the seconds equally as poor and up until the freo game it has been more of the same .There is spin and then there is this .

To be fair, he may have been asked to do some things that we the ordinary punter misses but would please the coaches.

The one thing I do know is that regardless of playing over 300 games juniors/seniors combined I have only a very basic grasp of footy at AFL level and it serves me well instead of trying to second guess people who have played and coached in AFL premierships

Worked about as hard for it as Hunt did for the week he was dropped...

And the quote is "True to form, however, Morris worked feverishly at VFL level to regain his place in the senior line-up for the Round 5 Anzac eve clash with Melbourne, and he has since gone from strength to strength."

They really are just better off saying nothing then that kind of propaganda.

And then there is... "But after playing out the entire 2014 season with a severe shoulder injury that subsequently required reconstructive surgery, and then a loss of form in 2015, Morris entered this year fully aware of the challenge he faced to resurrect his league career."

Huh??? A high five for Morris and a smack in the head for those who played him!

One thing no one disputes is that Morris works feverishly at everything, you can't fault his work ethic.

So how is this piece of propaganda wrong? Serious question.

What a sickening report on the website. We are getting closer to being members of a cult with each passing week.

I can only imagine what players that actually really perform at VFL level or any level really think of that vomitous article.

You know what? I saw signs last week from Morris, and he backed it up again today with some nice quick hands and feet and good attack on the ball.

Hope he keeps it up.
