Steve Morris F/S

Finally the selectors have woken up to the obvious.
He's just a depth player, nothing more.
Shame they couldn't see that last year.

You got that right Tooheys.

Liked your post on Chaplin too. I've been a critic but he's truly working within his limitations. Fantastically cool head despite the lack of speed.

I believe for our back 6 to continue this way, that Hunt must be more consistent and keep Morris out of the team.

I don't mind Morris being a depth player.

Agree, we have 2 more years of his contract... Seen last 2 weeks he can slot in and assist in back line, he knows our game plan and structures etc and whilst he's playing VFL can also provide leadership for the kids coming through, would be a cheap depth player, happy to have him on that proviso..

I guess he has to have some quality in front of him before he can be a depth players ;D which has happened this year for the first time

Morris in the twos....
Do we really mind if the 2s learn from Morris to play hard, desperate football?
Coaches job to then tone them down just a touch so they remember to think again when they are in the 1s.

Look *smile* aside, he honestly has looked solid last few weeks in the backline and Grimes isn't as durable as we'd like.
Hunt has the same speed but gets way more of the ball. Either of these two go down - from a leg speed perspective, who are we gonna call?

He has a role.

He's a very positive, vocal communicator, just from that short package on RFC. Gives an idea why he was voted in by the players.

Thanks Tames been missing the humour on this site re Stevo for a couple of years he was never off the front page - have we all moved on?

He is an absolutely quality bloke, didn't surprise me in the slightest that he'd be considered a leader by his peers. Hopefully he can get back to the form he showed when he first came to the club in the back pocket.

Yep - the VFL defence needs a bit of tightening up.

Did well. All of our leadership should be as vocal as that.

I wonder which Reece he was shouting out to?

What an amzing audition for the vacant job of club runner during matchdays
Seen enough.
Steve can run, is very vocal theres no one that deserves the job more sign him up for another 5 yrs as matchday runner

Translation: Steve is a quality person, a leader and a good athlete - but not a particularly good footballer. I think most agree with that analysis. Hopefully he can find a role this year or surely it is his last.
