Must have been a Wallace-hater.

He's played better under Jade.
I am hearing that there is a long list players who have the same feelings about Terrence.

So then why would Adelaide, arguably the best list management team in the AFL throw everything at us in the past two pre-seasons for Shane Edwards?

This kid could be an outstanding footballer, but not in the backline. People in Adelaide were drooling over this kid, you don't just lose ability. Give him time.

he played his best game off hbf today mate, he had direction and gave us very good attacking drive off half back.......would seem to me after his performance today that lining up in the backline is exactly where he needs to play. instead of having his back to our goals he can line up facing our goals and give us creative attacking run which is something our backline is crying our for.

He may have played his best game today, and that's because he's a very good and intelligent footballer, but I'll argue until the cows come home that he's a wingman.

Wing, defence, forward, regardless where you want him his development in these positions reflect he is a versatile footballer who has the ability to adapt to positional changes, something many of our players on list cannot handle and do not have the skill.

i dont know why adelaide rate him or not. for starters i dont believe everything i hear. adelaide obviously didnt rate him a first rnd pick now did they.

for me at the start of the yr the onl word to describe his foot skills was abysmal for a player of his type and size this is unforgivable.
yep he used it okay today like so many players do they have good days. but when under duress the bad old days always come back.

to me his greatest strength was his motor. because of his size he needed to be able to use that motor in an outside running position under wallace this did not happen.

claw has never liked skinnies and poor kicks rolled into the one package he has some proving to do as far as im concerned. lets say today was a good start.

Thought his marking was a highlight today.

I think Shane has been intimidated by bigger bodies when he steps up to AFL level, however a couple of the marks he took today show that he is starting to feel more comfortable, and like he belongs out there, and isnt going to be crunched in every contest.

Good game by Edwards today. Not sold on him yet, not by a long way but happy to be proven wrong.

Considering we'll likely miss out on the priority pick this year we needs kids like Edwards to come good just to catch up on the rest of the comp.

Don't think he has to prove anything to you :blah

This bloke needs to believe that he belongs.

He is a someone who takes the game on and can make mistakes in doing so. I think he's going along well for a very young player.

He will be a ripper from 2011 onwards.

Why not, claw is a fan?

Edwards was simply brilliant today I gave him 2 votes and was great in the area I judged by far his weakness and thats his kicking.

It is only one game though, great to see, but understand why claw is apprehensive.

its not surprising to see guys like the foetus improve under jade. its as if wallase suppressed the younger players and slowed their development

edwards' kicking is a confidence and concentration thing. his technique is good

FOETUS

Edwards plays like he did today and better at Coburg. He has struggled with the increased tempo and physicality of AFL and it is not certain whther he will stand up to it week in week out. But IMO if he can come to terms with the physical demands of AFL his footy smarts, skills and tank will see him end up as a very good player.

Needs 5 - 10 kilos for mine.
