Every time I see his name, I keep hearing this song and putting his name it.

The words of the song even suit.

Hope he makes the ones - he's my new favourite 'reject' player.

"He was the fairest of them all.... like Wirrupunda on the ball"

Petterd looked quite comfortable in the backline on Friday night.

Looks to be a very good kick too, something I didn't notice much from his demon days.

I reckon he could slot right in, would prefer him in the backline than Astbury.

Was surprised our recruiting team picked up both Edwards in the draft and Petterd in the rookie draft - both being mature age forwards.

After Friday night though, looks like we picked up Ricky P with a view to playing defence anyway, so the picks make a bit more sense.

Ricky's already impressed me more than McMuffin and we didn't have to give up a high draft pick to get him.

Apparently a defender as a junior probably a Craig Cameron pick who would have recruited him to the demons

Good article on Petterd on the AFL site.
Suggests he's been reinvigorated by the Tigers use of him in the backline.
Good read.

Saw that, look's like there is a spot on the main list if he want's it, perform in the NAB cup and who knows, he could be there round 1.

i thought Petterd was one of Melbourne's brightest lights when Mike Sheehan used to blow smoke up their arse as the next AFL powerhouse :hihi
If he's fit, he's there round 1.

Strange decision by Melbourne, did they think his injuries wouldn't recover for him to have an impact or was there a falling out, IMO their loss is our gain because i think he is going to be around this club for a few years at least.

Lets not speak too soon. I remember similar discussion after Addam Maric's first NAB cup game.

Agree, though Maric had form as a NAB Cup specialist.

Haha speaking of Maric, watched him in a practice match for Werribee against Williamstown yesterday. Did the odd flashy thing like always but overall was a bit underwhelming.

Yes, he was the answer to all our prayers. Unfortunately it just didn't work out. He showed flashes, including that tackle/scrag on Goddard, but couldn't do it consistently enough.

If he didn't kick the supergoal I would've said he had an average day, nothing special. I think he will be there round 1 though.

Agree, but you need guys who can pull something out of their bum when the chips are down.

You could say that about most of the side today. At least he took it on himself to win the game and he duly did.
