R15 v The Blues / team changes

Last week North knocked me out of my multis last week - worried it's going to be us this week. :p

Wow - has McDonough made a pass at Dimma's missus?
McD's only game before being immediately dropped was as sub where he got 7 disposals in quarter and a half. In last fortnight Lambert has 8 and 9 disposals and 0 goals in two full games. But is doing enough to hold spot.
Morris been terrible all year and ok at VFL level past fortnight while McD helps himself to another 18 touches and 7 tackles in a half!!!
I won't even bother explaining how lucky Newman is to be getting a game.
Seriously wouldn't blame the kid for not bothering this week. Incredible double standards.
Meanwhile, they think Matt Thomas could be a factor in the run home.
Coaches doing a lot right overall but still make some staggering decisions.

Hampson and Morris picked? Are we trying to throw the game? On man hasn't played a competitive game ijn weeks and the other can't play AFL. I hope I am wrong but I think we are going into the match two mendown.

stunning and perplexing...how on earth could morris be picked...he has been appalling all year...his pressure effort amount to him maniacally running about 6 feet behind the opposition as they take it out of our forward zone..less than four tackles a game is nothing for a pressure specialist..he has kicked two goals all year....meanwhile mcdonough is doing everything morris is meant to be doing but 30 times better....appaling selection

If McD and arnott can't get in I believe there's a line across their names.

This game has the old Richmond all over it. Slow!

Will be an ugly game..
Newman, Gordan, Vickery and now Morris & Hampson.

Not going to enjoy it...

Please Hardwick I do not want here you say after the game " they didn't come to play".

It starts at selection table.

B2

With both Maric n Griff out the Hamster was a pretty obvious selection.
As for Morris, probably fairly simple.
Dimma's had to put some rockets up the collective arse of the side recently about work ethic, effort n intensity. Morris might not play very well at AFL level, but he works *smile* hard, perhaps a chirp from the coach to all the senior players to lift the work rate n also a little dig to all those elite youngsters stuck in the magoos about work rate to match the inherent ability.

Either that or Stevie has actually got a folder full of good photo's ;D.

We're thin n patchy on the ground for hard bodied experienced senior players at the moment in that 18 to 28 list bracket of players. Axle, Concareter, Petterd, Knights.
Also thin on the ground for exciting youngsters as there's a couple of new ones been injured when given a few games this year. Ellis, Drummond, Short, Castagna or Menadue, Can't elevate injured rookies or overload the first years.
Damning indictment on a few lads that have been on the list for a season or three n can't or won't do what's required to step up for senior selection. Elton, Dea, Beanie, Madonna, Beatle, Bikkies all at about the point of needing to pull the finger out if Newman, Morris, Thomas are still strongly ahead of them in the match selection panels view.

Danger game is an understatement.

That 22 is starting to look very very shaky isn't it.

I know we need to make the finals and Dimma needs to win one to say we've progressed, but surely the way to improve again is to weed out the underperformers & underskilled and replace them with the next wave.

Our current level as a side isn't good enough to take us the whole way, so we need to find improvement. It won't come from Morris and Newman.

This 22 has a R1 - 6 look about it. I have a sneaky suspicion that Thomas will be in the 22 tomorrow night. I am dismayed
at his elevation and selection over better performed kids in the VFL. So much for our kids development.

I thought Hardwick and his crew, would have learnt by now that these players will not elevate us into the next level. It has been
no coincidence that since they went youth in R7 we have played a better brand and a higher level of football. These talented kids
are far better skilled and have far more ability than quite a few in the 22 for tomorrow night. Hence why the execution of the
kick/possession game we have been playing, has been successful. Really worried about the game tomorrow.

Very nervous aboit tmrw night...forget last week this is the typical richmond should win but richmond dont win match.

....and against this mob....yuck

Just get the job done tigers.

good to see a little common sense. Apart from the photo's. :hihi

Add to that, FFS was a big part of Yarran having a quite night the first time round.

Interesting that so many still cant get their heads around the fact that their are reasons why the the younger guys are not getting selected.

Having said that my mail was that morris had done his dash. But I gather it has to do with Yarran or team balance or a role hardwick see's him as best fit.

Been a bit mentioned about July footy. Theory is its the hardest, wetest coldest month. Difficult for young developing bodies. We havnt relied on contested footy much lately and we have relied on emotion to pull us over the line. I imagine we will need to address this with some hard experienced players. At least till the weather turns and we get back some players from injury.

What do you guys want people to say/post who don't agree with the selections?

They prefer to whinge about Cotchin's sub-par 35 disposals than jokes at the selection table
