Not sure on the exact details but it's on the 22nd of November at The Gold Coast Convention Centre.

beauty, im gonna try and go with my youngest boy, who is like a tiger rain-man. Might see you there TD, well be in our tigs colors.

As a hypothetical, if Melbourne gets stripped of their second rounder, where do people expect Viney to be taken?

It's already locked and cannot be touched from my understanding. It's the same as their trade for Hogan. Both deal are locked away.

In order of preference;

1. Lachie Whitfield
2. Jimmy Toumpas
3. Ollie Wines
4. Jake Stringer
5. Brodie Grundy
6. Jackson Macrae
7. Jonathon O'Rourke
8. Nick Vlastuin
9. Sam Mayes
10. Troy Menzel

Really? I would have thought the contract can't be signed until draft day.

On Simpson, I too am a fan from what I've seen of him. Remember watching the Vic v WA game where I thought he really stood out.

He's in shifters top 12... More I look into this fella the more I think he'll definitely be gone by our next pick. This game you mention is the only game I saw a portion if and was just as impressed by him. I would be happy if we got him with our first pick from the vision I saw

It's not a case of contracts being signed it's about the commitments to the players being honored.
It's not a retrospective thing. Any bans will be for picks not already committed to.

Hopefully clubs make an agreement that whoever has the pick before Melbourne's first pick takes him. ie. Melbourne's first pick is 88. Club with 87 takes him. :hihi

It seems that GWS are looking to pull a surprise at pick 3 and overlook Grundy, that means he's every chance to be around at 9. Now I'm usually not one to risk top ten picks on rucks but he is the best ruck in the pool ( by the length of the Flemington Straight), and we obviously have some gaping in holes in that area.

Do we take the plunge?

I realise we need mids but Grundy is already at a very handy playing weight and won't take long to come up to speed. My other rationale would be the fact we could grab some servicable mids with our later picks, there seems to be a glut this year and we're bound to nab a couple.

Just a thought but I see the ruck as our number 1 priority.

Couldn't read his number out quick enough. Just don't read the wrong number out FJ.

Melbourne losing pick 4 will make it interesting. Port would be the one obstacle to getting him if he gets through GWS. They'll likely add a classy mid/forward.

Not so sure about that Gus, have a read of this...

AFL Free Agency, Trade, Draft & Season News From my interpretation, although Melbourne have committed to Jack Viney as a father/son selection, they have not put pen to paper on a contact, which can only be done after he is officially drafted to the club.

IF melbourne are stripped of the first three rounds in the draft - then Jack Viney will NOT be eligible to be drafted by Melbourne, instead he would go into the draft where he could be obtained by anyone.

The only way Viney could be obtained by Melbourne, is if he lasted until the fourth round, which would be highly unlikely.

That seems very harsh on the players in my opinion given they have followed the process.

Youde have to grab Grundy at 9 if he's there wouldnt you? 203, 92 kg AA ruck with a pretty good beard for a 17 yo. Cant see Port passing on him. They'll take whoever is there out of him and Jimmy the Toumpas Loumpas I would think. Bugger it, I WILL think it.

Word is that GWS will take O'Rourke at 3.

And welcome to Tigerland - Brodie Grundy.

I'm not sure there is much harsher for a kid than being drafted to Melbourne at the moment.

I would think Port would take Grundy if available at their pick. This might free up Mayes.
