Pick 9 ND 2012 – Who should we pick?

Garlett is now unlikely to go in the first round

Would be a gem of a second rund pick. With us having two picks in the second round, if he was there, I would take him. No doubt.

Dees really need another ruckman after Jamar, Max Gawn may be that player but he is injury probe so far.

Port also are in desperate need of a ruckman.

If he falls to us then yes, we should take him.

That would be three picks in the second round Scoop 31, 33 and 42 (after the crows loss 20).

I see your logic TT but the Dees will take Wines regardless if Grundy is there or not.

Reckon Wines might slide, I know he is Vineys best friend but I don't think Melbourne will take him.

Talk around the traps is that Grundy could be a slider.

If available at pick 9 do we take him?
I really like the look of Grundy & it would be a hard decision but I'd probably pass, club is better off poaching a mature ready to go ruck .

How far down we talking? Any chance of getting to our 2nd pick? Which with bit of luck will become 31.

As much as I see that we need to bolster our midfield, I would grab Grundy if he was there. Geez, would be a tough call actually...

Also have some highlights of Spencer White, good pair of hands and a nice fluent kicking action....At 1 min and 15 secs u would think it was Buddy with the one hand pic up and running around that boundary line taking bounces, just has a real buddy likeness about him....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ayCKpUJiDk

Spencer who is a power forward, 195 cms/90 kgs (18 yrs old) came runner up in the TAC cup goal kicking with 36.12 in 16 games......
Where will Spencer white go in the draft? personally think he'd go around 30+ if he happened to be their at 43 id pull the trigger as he looks a likely prospect....
wow. how similar to buddy is he. except his skills look to be more accomplished. nice kicking action, looks very in control of his movements.
if there for one of our 2nd rounders we would be mad not to take him !!!
players like these you have to take a chance on, cause they could turn out to be bona fide match winners!

Is Wines that good for a top 4? Can Melb afford to take two very similar players in Wines and Viney or will they look for a taller player with their pick 4.

Need more logic for Wines and Viney to have played junior footy together and being friends for Melb to pick him up.

I am not in the scene for juniors so personally have no idea.

Melbourne need ferocious big-bodied ball winners who are ready to go. Wines and Viney fit the bill. They already got themselves a CHF in Hogan.

Sure is....agree id take him at 43, something about him that says he could well turn out to be a star...

My first 3 pics all mids with a mixture of inside ball winning ability and outside run....last pic KPF

Pic 9 - I wanted Wines but think he'll go to the Dees so Vlastuin/Macrae
Pic 32 - Hrovat/Simpson/Towers
Pic 34 - Broomhead/Atkins
Pic 43 - Spencer White (power forward with skill & pace)

I have a chance to go and see the draft live down on the Gold Coast but I am not sure if I should go. It would break with the tradition (feels like 10 years worth but not sure if it is) of being in the chat room with the PRE members as the players are read out and everyone pumps in the instant feedback. Then the frenzied posting afterwards. It can be a very entertaining time in the ol' chat room.
Then again, this will probably be the only chance I get to attend the draft. It's on a school night though and it will take me an hour and a half to get home afterwards, and of course once I get home I will want to read all the threads and everyones opinions, etc.
Not sure what I should do, but I have to decide by tomorrow....

What would you do?
