Pick 53: Jack Graham

Maybe Jack HAS accepted the West Coast deal BUT, for their PR reasons they don't want to announce it until the coach is named and then they can promote it as his endorsement of the new coach and the Clubs direction.

YOU KNOW IT MAKES SENSE haha

Wont be going to Carlton unless something changes as they have told us they dont need us.
It doesnt look like their FS twins will be bid on before their 1st pick.
They may need some points but they wont be offering anything we want.

Gettable saying that Richmond has now matched WC with Richmond now also offering a 4 year deal for Graham.

Not sure what the club sees that we don’t?
4 yrs for an injury prone player who’s best seems behind him. Surely a compensation pick in the 20s is a better option?

Who knows?

Picks at that level are not necessarily going to get a good player and we need some leaders around. History says early 20s are no guarantee ! ( that being said I would have leaned towards letting him go)

i don't mind the idea of Fridge hanging around ....we can't get rid of everyone
but if he goes he goes ...

With Prestia’s extension if we keep Graham thats 2 slow midfielders who can’t get space and break from the contest to go with the rest that can’t do that. We need pace.

Is it possibly strategic? If West Coast increase their offer does it mean better compensation for Richmond? Could it mean the difference between a beginning or end of round 2 pick?

yeah you'd say so.

Leysy's guess - AFL have advised the current offer won't get band 3, so we've increased ours to try and get West Coast to increase theirs.

Depends by how how much they increase their offer. It may fit in the same band if it’s not by a decent amount.
Not that it matters really, JG is unrestricted so the only decision is his. RFC matching has no bearing if he rally wants to go.

Prettyr risky if so. 4 years? Surely WC wouldn't be that desperate to increase the offer.
