Dont want to knock the coaches but Balta has struggled since swinging back again.

It was a tough game and Dixon is a taller heavy forward. Plus Port were able to grapple, block and push with impunity. But still his impact is much less than at his peak.

He had 4 goals kicked on him by a washed-up opponent who had kicked 2 goals in his previous 5 games.

A prime 25 Noah Balta should wipe the floor with him.

Poor game - gave his opponent too much latitude early and let him build his confidence up.

Doesn't help he's been thrown around all year. And we're still left with us not knowing what his best position is - for both himself and the team.

Nor what guys like Jacob Blight might have to offer.

I would rather one Balta forward than both of Ryan and Koschitzke.

When he's getting bags kicked on him anyway, we wouldn't lose anything by playing Blight back.

Balta and Bauer forward is a tenfold improvement in output over Ryan and Kosi.

I think the only proof we have is that constant positional changes have resulted in a loss of form.

We know he can dominate Charlie Bignose and control the defence with his intercept marking. Flossy out didnt help, and we were smashed in the middle.

Leave him back. He's not a first choice forward, he's a first-choice backman. This has happened before. Loses all confidence after being moved forward and going back again. It's unfair on him, he's being sacrificed for our poor recruitment and injury to Lynch.

Always understood the thought of such a great athlete playing as a forward and especially with our lack of forwards , however no longer for me , imho there is no doubt Balta is a better back man then he is forward and the big key is we are a better team with him back , he’s ability to take saving marks and also start attack from defence are crucial for us going forward.

Not sure the final stats , however the Pies had taken atleast 15 marks inside 50 to our 3 at one point , that’s with Balta playing forward and to make things worse we were similar in the inside 50 department.

I think Yze’s decision to try and turn Balta into a forward could cost him his job , he’s got an AA backman right in front of him and his trying to make him a forward ffs , there is not one other top shelf key backman on the list as we speak , Yze can start to build a solid defensive unit around Balta , no way can he build a forward line around him , today was another game with no scoreboard impact as a forward .

Can't see under 12 for Baker. Uncontracted, not an elite player. Maybe with a pick returned back to the buyer (Freo?).

Surprised no one mentioned Balta today. Thought he was really poor.

Got owned by Larkey and too many times the ball went past him.

We were a tall short today - either Bauer, Ryan or Blught should have played, and then Balta either dominates in defence or goes forward. Today he was nothing.
