Nankervis !!

I think rucks are usually about pairings.

Hawthorn is a good example of pairing.

McEvoy can be worse than useless at CBs. Much worse. But usually he's competitive. And if he's getting smashed he's paired with a ruck (Ceglar, or previously Hale) who can guarantee contact with the ball (or opponent's arm) at a CB. This is guaranteed aerial presence and it is vital.

Once McEvoy can be covered against CB routs he can use his presence forward and around the ground. He's good at that. And he's only #2 ruck anyway. There's another guy with more altitude who has to be watched.

Nankervis is nowhere near as good a mark as McEvoy. But he can be better at ground level. And Nank will have cover from Hampson. So if they're getting Nank by the hair at CBs Hamster switches back in.

This could be a good pairing for us. We have the two types. Aerialist and ground pig.

:hihi

Seriously though, love that we got Nank but a forward he is not.

Number 1 ruck or VFL should be hos role.

Cannot play him and Megan together. Even less so if Griff/Jack are fit.

I think the No1 thing you want in a ruckman is;

1. Hes a tough *smile*.

From the little Ive seen, I suspect Nankers fulfils this criteria.

Tough *smile*s win finals.

the revolution will not be TeleVised.

Nank & Griff is a fair pair IMO.

Griff can get air, not to Hammeer extent but still against the elite who actually can match it

Only just got around to watching Nackers high light reel. Around the ground he looks much better than Hammer.

Exactly, SB. Hampson is the one who'll play forward.

Well he finished the season as a high marking goal scoring KPF when he was resting forward. It only seems right to continue him there.

Yeah 5 goals in 20 games last season...

2 in the last three games, hence the point about finishing the season.

I just saw that the Hampster had the 5th most hitouts in the AFL in 2016. Not bad for a supposed numpty

Cmon Bal, im a brightsider but even i cant deny hamster is an awful awful footballer, due to his height he often gets first hand to ball however for me thats where his football stops... awful awful footballer, quite honestly should never play 1st again.

We've played worse. His field work got better. Started clunking some marks. Dunno. But he's not as bad as people make out. If our midfielders could read his taps we'd win a lot more clearances

I don't think Hampson is much of a footballer, but he's the best we have as first ruck at present, and at 2.01m tall he's about the same height as most ruckman so I don't see how that helps him get his hand first to the ball more often than opponents. He also improved last season and took some decent marks. I haven't seen much of Nankervis, but at present he'll have to get past Hampson to get the first ruck spot and as he's only 22 there's plenty of time for him to come on.

Already would prefer Nankervis to be prowling the centre circle come the opening bounce at the MCG when the Tigers take on the Blues for the opening game of season 2017.
